ATTN: No matter who you use for buying bitcoin, always and forever set up auto withdraws. They will save your ass every single time.

In this case they are moving custodians so it’s not totally unexpected, but they are also having a battle with them over Fortress wanting to charge like $100 fees for every individual account. So this could literally be some sort of internal petty dispute going on and causing problems. nostr:note1cdyf2zxhr93wat25gg5mjwq09p4d0l22g2ehpsklkys769xcuhsqd5axdh

People should probably stop using Swan many better options nowadays

Nothing wrong with River if anyone is getting nervous with Swan. Been using both for a long time. I’m not using Swan for the moment because things seem to be on shaky foundations right now.

Strike/river/Robosats are all great options

Yes 👆🏻

More like $250 admin fee isn't it?

I saw people say $64 and $125 specifically, never saw $250. I did see Swan say they were covering $250 in future fees, but they specifically said that was 2X the price being charged.

It’s $125

I think that was the biggest fee being charged but that it wasn’t flat across the board. I saw people saying like $60 and $64 had come out of their balance. So I’m not sure what the real fee is or how distributed it is. Plenty of people who also haven’t seen a fee, so don’t know the extent.

The email I got said $125 like it was a flat fee. Only free reason I didn’t get hit with that is because I haven’t used Swan in a while and had no USD or BTC on their platform to have it withdrawn from. 🤡

dont make excuses for this clown show

It’s not an excuse, it’s details on what is happening. How did you interpret that as an excuse?

I was told by a 'third party' that Swan was trying to buy fortress, and apparently when it fell through fortress decided to be dicks.

Seems like Swan was trying to avoid this kind of problems with the acquisition but couldn't make it happen.

Also, the old 'legacy accounts' possibly linked to fortress as well, were 'ending' on Dec1, so his particular problem may be related to that as well.

Got hit myself with the fee. Removed funds a few days ago and it went through within a few hours. Im out though, not using them again.

Sad to see. They’ve been great for a long time but I’m in a similar boat. Can’t believe they didn’t cover the fee upfront for people. Really bad choice, imo

I really hate this for Swan. My wife and I have both bought a lot of Bitcoin from them. First heard of Swan from Bitcoin Audible, but in recent months started using River instead. Hate to say it, but River is a much better experience in just about every way.

I have started moving to River too. Sucks because Sean has been great for a long time

Same. You reap what you sow though, and I feel like Swan has been planting poison pills for a while. They are finally starting to sprout.
