Almost everyone whom I onboarded to nostr left within one week. What do you think the reason of it ? đŸ€”

News?

Where is Dylan LeClair? Why does Lyn Alden post about Egypt musings and not her macro analysis?
Checkmatey? Doomberg? Etc. there is no “content” over here offered by those who are posting it to Twitter.

I think lack of integrated live audio conversations as well done as Spaces is a problem as well.

I think so. That’s what keeps me going to X at least. Nostr is fantastic if you care about freedom tech like bitcoin and Nostr development. But there’s not a ton else compared to some of the centralized platforms.

Maybe if more those who go to the centralized platforms will reshare links and sources on here will help to solve it.

You’re like a mind-reader. I started doing that yesterday. This is a nice tool to dl video content from X.

Ask them.

Same here.

‚It‘s boring. It‘s buggy. It‘s bitcoin-maxi-land.‘

Most think it‘s a social network and as that it doesn‘t work for them.

The concepts of data-ownership, privacy and key-management is just for the 1 % hardcore nerds.

The informative content here sucks. Said with a smile.

Gotta start re sharing information on here from the outside then.

I don’t have any of the outside platforms. I burned the ships
here for the long haul.

Don’t understand why those who still have Twitter accounts, etc. don’t link EVERYTHING here.

Me too. But people still re sharing links with me so I drop what shared outside on here

Too many discussion about BTC only, and technical things.

They need real life posts.

No network effect yet. It feels like the first year of my FB experiences. Just a few people posting and doing quizzes. Then boom, all the folks in town are on FB.

Nostr will be growing in wave phases. Not the boom

not ready for normal folk

It’s usable

I agree... for us crazy bitcoiners, normies not so much

Most people aren’t interested in bitcoin. And without an easy way to search for other people/topics to follow all you’re gonna see is bitcoin content.

because there were no push notifications to grab their attention away from apple and google news and their hoards of bots liking their insta. *ding

Most of them aren’t public personas and not on Facebook or Instagram

so apple news then. srsly, people dont open apps anymor

The amount of people/ network effect. It's gonna be really hard to steal that from Twitter/fb/tik tok etc.

No one I onboard last 48 hours

Even the people who get banned all the time

😅

They just don’t get it

Just like they still haven’t gotten bitcoin 10+ fucking years now

They don't need Nostr. Some users also register for Nostr accounts and come back to use it after a long time.

Nostr is for anyone, but not for everyone, just yet

For the obvious reasons.

But its hard to remember there was a time we were all normies.

Money is abstract. So are laws and rights and concepts of #FOSS.

Takes a specifc person to end up in these rabbit holes.

Plus most people seem to just be survijng paycheck to paycheck. The fiat machine is a hard one to escape.

Almost everyone I told about bitcoin turned away after a short time.

Not sure it is my follow list or what, but I am now struggling everyday to find interesting notes to read. Not that I write anything worth reading also...

Clients don't have recommendation algorithms.

Nostr UX is worse than alternatives.

All their friends are probably in x.

You don’t need to have recommendations. Just need to spend a time following and unfollowing active people on here to make your own feed

still, not the same thing.

I would bet on content, amount of content, and types of content. And this is influenced by the amount of users.

I guess we just should start re sharing whatever we see on internet and it will catch on

Not enraging producing dopamine content.
