This is a regular URL upload, just an internet link, like you have currently.

This is one that other clients will have trouble with, notice that the URL is now a Nostr event, not a simple URL. This is the secure option in Amethyst.

So I am doing the "right" thing by wanting everyone to see it and not really care about the "security"
So... the ones who can't see it can't blame this on the whole hosted image nip-94/95 thing?
#[5] posted a pic of his dog using the "secure" method and the relays deleted it. What about that sounds secure to a normal user?
But am I using this secure method? I was under the impression I was just shitposting on url uploads.
I'm genuinely confused 🫤
On this post it is just a link, not secure. What did you click when you uploaded?

Scrolling your timeline everything seems to load for me. A couple people said they couldn’t see some of mine earlier either, but then several others said they could see them fine. Not sure what the issue was. I’m on Damus and just paste my image links into my posts.
Thank you so much for the input.
I think a lot of these are just end users experiencing growing pains.
I'm doing my best to keep everything as bare bones basic as I can.

That was using nip 95, not nip 94. 95 stores the image data inside the note, on the relay. 94 uploads to traditional hosting, but had a hash included so you can guarantee the image hasn't changed since upload.
None of which matters to someone who is simply trying to post a pic of their dog for others to see.
I just wanna make people laugh 😭
Just use the simple URL option then. This isn't difficult.
💯 it shouldn’t be difficult. But the wording on the upload screen makes it confusing for people when everything in internet culture trains you to use the “secure” option of anything. It’s misleading the way they are labeled.

What’s the best long-term method that doesn’t also break everything in the short-term?

It could be that the pleb who can't see it has other problems on their end. Some Damus users can see it, so it rules out the nip thing as an issue. I know last night people were having issues seeing imgur over VPN connections.
Appreciate the help. Maybe I'll just wait a bit.
