First rule of marketing:

People who are bad at marketing think marketing is pointless.

People generally think everything they don't know nor understand is pointless.

Facts.

I see you like certain notes and also repost them. What is the purpose? Broadcasting to /through your own node?

I broadcast some, to get it onto my node.

I boost some, to make sure my 5k mostly-human followers see it in their main timeline. It helps the person I boost get new followers and helps followers find interesting people, they might not otherwise see.

I'm the Nostr Discovery Algo. 😅

That's what I thought. Time for my own node/relay.

Thanks!

Time to ask for Nostr knowledge :)

What makes a good #Nostr relay/node ?

What makes a good Nostr relay/node operator?

#asknostr

1) I try to keep the signal on my relay really high, since low signal is more a market for the big relays.

2) Quick response time. Helpfulness. Watchfulness. Speed of connection/transaction. Concept for dealing with attacks, mediation/moderation, geographic arbitrage, lightning payments, censorship attempts, client authorization, etc.

What is high vs low relay signal?

high-signal content, i mean

✊🏼

I don't find it pointless, I have a hard time trusting the process. It seems there is no showing the work and you have to accept failure as a success that hasn't been acknowledged yet.

Marketers gonna market... their own ideas. 😉

I think the fact that I've never worked with a good marketer is part of the problem. It is like working with a bad dev can make you question good any code actually works.

Same with bad analysts.

There's plenty of metrics for measuring marketing effectiveness.

But the numbers almost never shared outside an organisation.

I have limited experience, but anyone I've worked with or tried working with wanted to discredit the metrics as a method of devaluing the work.

I see marketing as a fiat thing, am I wrong? Why?

It's a business application of strategic planning, market analysis, logistics management, and classical rhetorical techniques. It is not mere advertising.

I post about those, sometimes, in my Classical Convos Community (CCC LOL).

So absolutely true.
