Too lazy. Did go to hardware store though to see if they have the right size tops and they don’t. I’d need to really do it all and I don’t have the tools
I’d make you one (have tops and tools, and the rest of the supplies) but it’ll cost you more than $2K unfortunately, since it would be a completely handmade and high quality desk. 🫂🤌🏻
Found a local wood worker / crafter - will try to get a quote for a top. Hopefully combine with uplift v2 industrial frame.
Go find something at IKEA, and buy sats with the $1700 you have left.

This one's pretty nice. It's got a motor that raises and lowers the desk to accommodate sitting and standing. Plus it's got built-in outlets. It's also available in black if that's your thing.
Particle board? I prefer real wood

That sounds like a custom job. Custom job, custom dollars. I'm not sure if there are any mass-produced, standing desks made of natural wood.

Particle board :(
It is particleboard. I have cut into one of their tabletops before and I have to say it’s very solid highly compressedparticle board. But they also sell the legs by itself so you could cut and screw on your own table top. When I’m ready to renew my tabletop, it will be real wood.

Uplift are great. I have a Updesk as well but its not nearly as nice and its more expensive.
Get one with the beveled edge.
Are uplifts particle board?
The base models that they call laminate are. The laminate coating is pretty durable. Its been my primary desk for ~6 years and survived 4 house moves. Until this last move it was fine but I dropped it on the corner.
You can also get several types of solid wood as well as bamboo.
Looked at IKEA MITTZON? Different sizes and colors. With or without electric motor. Much value for money I would say. Have an older IKEA electric controlled standing desk that's served me well with daily use since 2008. Still going strong.
These were recommended to me, I’ve been thinking of buying one.
