incredible.
Imagine if this was inflation adjusted. Japan would look like a nosedive.
So basically 1 bitcoin per year
Rest of the world is getting crushed. (And dang- 80k is the new 60k)
The avg American is getting crushed donāt let this chart fool you honestly I think itās bullshit lol itās pre tax so avg wage is more like 55k a year
Family of 4 paying close to 40k a year to live thatās just food and housing no car or anything
A single person is paying around 20k just food and shelter
Everybody is getting crushed itās all relative
Japan down bad
Wow
WTF?! That's totally decoupled!
I wonder how this would compare with standard of living. Certainly feels like most of that wage growth in the US has evaporated either to the top 1% or to inflation.
Are these the top 6 countries? I am surprised China isn't in that list.
Is all net income? Because you habe also a lot of taxes to pay in germany
Donāt forget Germany pays 2.5 x for auto fuel, and three times the US rate for electricity.
Don't forget also public services...
š
Anti-human policy and mandatory āservicesā result in energy poverty for a quarter Germans, and a cost of living to where families are not having kids.
I'm not here to defend the disastrous Germany's energy policies during last decades.
But if you want to compare the cost of living between different countries, you can not cherry pick just two services that fit your discourse.

Canāt be net
If it was net they would mean avg gross salary is 100k in the U.S
Thatās a lie
We actually had a higher tax rate in Maryland.
Avg cost for housing whether itās mortgage or rent plus food for a family of 4 is close to 40k š³
Holy fucking grim
How does this compare in relation to the cost of living?
That's the real metric to follow.
The Cantillon effect in a chart
Average vs. Median.
Average propbably skewed enormously by top %1. Significant portion of the population lives on minimum wage or close to it. Median will likely show the same trajectory across the board.
Itās good to live with the world reserve currency. Not great for the rest of the world, but bitcoin fixes.
The real hack is to live in Japan and get payed in USD.
Except for the idea of speaking Japanese
Learning a new language is unlocking a new world you never imagined, and if you work remote you donāt really need to learn Japanese. Money is the best tool for communication.
Isnāt the work culture brutal ?
If you work in the city for a Japanese company yes , but itās gotten a little better. If you work for an American or European company itās very laid back. You can actually tell just by looking at the skyscrapers at night, the ones with the lights off are American.
Median. Still good to be in the US.

Isn't this just a overvalued dollar chart?
Now normalize for all the broken bloated US industries like healthcare, education, and (real) food.
Still higher but not decoupled crazy higher
A good read to understand how we export our inflation is "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins. That epoch is on the way out.
The only graph needed, UK is the least fucked, but still 50% poorer, without the productivity and deflation of Japan.
One of these lines...looks exactly like US M2 š¤·āāļø
