I keep hearing about BlueSky from Nostr ppl.
Is it actually gaining real adoption? What is the general read on it becoming a primary social media platform for [whatever groups of ppl]?

I had been noticing the communist connection for a while, and then discovered Lindsay, who greatly expanded on it.
My latest realization is that it's all the leftist Marxists acquiring glory unto themselves. Being "including" in the glory of others without don't anything of merit.

Allowing us to write our gender is actually a good idea. I would also love the option of allowing us to write in our political affiliation and many other options.
This could allow us to mass find or mass block people with certain views.
Nostr or relays could also gather statistics on how many male, female trans etc are on nostr.

Bluesky is 'blooming' because its getting way more attention than it deserves, in the legacy media as well as the mindspace of other people.
It's in the sweet spot of being 'not owned by billionaires' - a community for left wing people.
As digital spaces and communities continue to fragment, there will be some temporary outliers who gain some momentum but walled gardens continue to grow smaller.
It is the interoperable digital spaces with least friction and best opportunities for free and open markets that will continue to thrive and accumulate traction, and in that sense, nothing can compete with Nostr at this point.

Its stupid as hell to have a field for this. Like what's next? Height, weight, dick size, CS2 rank? Its just a string anyway. Why not have users write it in bio?
That being said, a part of me likes it BC the possibilities for showing everyone what they want to hear is endless. A dev could get best of both worlds by only showing pronouns for users who themselves set pronouns (if they want to maximise sanity). Or they could do the opposite to maximise outrage and engagement.
The more I think about it the better it gets. Imagine how funny it would be to group users into "standard" and "non standard" pronoun groups. Most normal people on one side living the life while all the special pronouns feed each others insanity while being berated by the "prosecute/fauci" trolls.
The possibilities are endless!
