tiktok brain is rampant in gen z and it’s obvious, hopefully there’s a pendulum shift coming
to be fair, kids have never not been stupid
Gen z are in their 20s now.
Gen z are the ones who make the videos, it's the kids watching who's brains aren't developed enough to handle it that are suffering.
And I've noticed a lot of older people like over 55s who shouldn't be old enough to be going into cognitive decline yet but seem to be effected almost the exact same was that young children are by these apps
It's probably just because working aged people have less free time to scroll on tiktok or shorts or whatever that they seem less effected.
shit ruined my attention span to be honest I struggle to sit through a full length movie.
Absolutely, theft of presence and time. Far too easy to get sucked in
Not a fan of all of them ☹️
👌🏾💯
They’re tools. Centralized but tools nonetheless.
TikTok and YouTube have also helped spread many big truths to the youth the adults won’t speak and break societal lies.
In this case they are tools of propaganda and time suck. The shorts format of quick scroll controlled by the YouTube or TikTok algorithm is a net negative. But short content of quality might be the only way we will get to pass on information to some people.
Worth keeping the format but increasing the quality.
youtube is the best learning platform in the world, if you use it right. i've learned so much from it over the yrs. im talking about youtube shorts.
I’m not doom scrolling YT shorts
but I’m finding useful stuff when I have couple of minutes to see a few.
It is also a tool.
So give us some reasoning why kids should be kept away because it’s the most dangerous poison
Tiktok was good before trump got involved.
The political content that isn't pro Trump and pro Israel now gets heavily censored and the algorithms have changed to show less educational content and more pro Trump pro Israel propaganda and brain rot.
I was completely addicted to tiktok and now I do not use it at all it's gotten that bad.
Whew…dodged those bullets
Ahhh, So Fb reels are ok then. Thanks for the heads up.
didnt even know it existed 😂
Digital crack
Unless it's Chris Boden, he'll show you something cool 🤭
The world's 3 most sane drugs:
1. Bitcoin
2. Nostr
3. ???
Tell your kids at all costs.
Short videos are the worst thing that surfaced on the internet in the last 10 years.
Also instagram
This list of “poisons” is quite special ~ why not take your kids to experience private yacht rental dubai and replace the lure of the screen with a view of the sea.
Expenisve maybe?
Don't forget to include the pleace you are from
My friend sits his 3yo kid in front of an ipad all day, says he’s addicted. I asked him to consider changing the world for the better by doing less of that. His response: “no way, you do you, I’ll do me—my kid watches math shows and can multiply already”.
What warped priorities.
Instagram and Snapchat by far have the worst short video content.
Instagram is just thirst traps and car crash dashcam footage.
Snapchat is mostly onlyfans models trying to sell their onlyfans, and drunk teenage boys riding motorbikes doing dangerous shit that younger boys will guaranteed copy from them.
Tiktok used to be good if you wanted educational content or arts crafts etc. but it changed.
Tiktok shorts used to be the worst for brain rot now it's kinda become good for educational content (a lot of the good creators from tiktok left and went to YouTube after the tiktok algorithms got changed)but you gotta be careful if you let one stupid video play all the way through it ruins your algorithms and just feeds you retarded shit like the rest of them.
Xiǎohóngshū is wholesome and educational, no more censored than the western apps just slightly different type of censorship.
Pretty much no toxic behaviour, be polite don't lie don't promote drugs or degeneracy etc.
It's the only one that with careful parental oversight children might actually benefit from. The algorithms on the rest are just too hard to control and always end up feeding you garbage.
Yeah don’t forget reels
