You never had war brides and concubines? 🤔 Doubt.
Her husband was with her. 💀
If you raped or abducted a woman, you could be ordered to pay the bride price (bridal-dowry) as damages.
And men who can't afford the price would just steal a woman or pay a lesser sum to a trafficker.
Wild.
First time, I was just like, "Hey where did the bride go?"
Oh, she's been stolen.

Yeah, must create such a weird dynamic.
I'm not into that shit. I'm got 99 problems and a BDSM-fetish ain't one.
Women don't like being stolen, they like pretending to be stolen.
The difference being that they get to choose the thief.
That's an important difference, I think.
It's the women requesting the abuse, Gary. 🤷♀️
If men aren't scary enough by their mere presence because they're too egalitarian, women start demanding they act like a psycho, to even things out again.
Yeah, everyone did it. Some still do.
Seems to be most popular among poorer men because they have so little to offer.
Best part is that they all had rap sheets and were marked for deportation.
Once you're here, you're here forever.
I guess that's why so many women seem to enjoy painful, degrading sex. Some sort of evolutionary artifact.
Can't get off unless they're terrified and suffering.
Find it funny, that you seem surprised about all this. Bride-stealing is a common, universal habit. 🤷♀️
That looks so good. 🤤
The tradition has three aspects:
1) It reminds the groom that his new wife is valuable and that he needs to watch out for her safety.
2) It protected the bride from the "ius primae noctis". In this variation, the best man is doing the groom a favor, by hiding his wife from the nobility.
3) It's a historic relic, reminding us of theft-marriage and Beutefrau (war brides).
Yes, of course.
We still have the tradition that the best man "steals" the bride from the wedding and "hides" her in a different location, and then the groom has to go find her and pays the bill when he arrives.
Freshly printed €, so nobody cares.
