#bitcoin has taken me on such an incredible journey of self improvement over the last 3 years.

I’ve improved my finances and understanding of money.

My health is better.

My privacy is much improved.

I’ve ditched Facebook & Instagram and removed myself from google search results.

My political understanding has matured immensely, so I can now see through lots of the 🐂💩.

I’ve made a bunch of new friends and drifted from people that aren’t.

Most importantly I’m a better father.

Up until a few weeks ago I thought Twitter would be the one channel I’d hang on to, I’m not bandwagoning here as I know others are doing the same but I just nuked my twitter account. I don’t need it anymore #nostr is that much better! If it falls apart so be it but for now…

Most maxis life in the first world and forget shit can be useful in the third world in the form of stablecoins.

So basically what Zaps are, are a tip with an 'event' added to them.

Easiest example I can come up with is if you tip, nothing is recorded on Nostr. You just did a P2P transaction with another user.

If you 'Zap', the client you're using (in my case Amethyst) can show who tipped what post & for how much and that amount will be compiled with all of the other tips you might have received on the note you posted so you can see how well a note that you created was received.

Another cool thing you could do, in theory, with Zaps is combine 'Zaps' with 'Likes' & a user could receive a set amount of sats every time you hit the like button on their note.

I’m curious. Why is #monero trash? Is it the default privacy and fungibility? Is it the decentralization via CPU mining? PoW? Dynamic block size? Tail emissions? Is it because it wasn’t the first, or it’s market cap is so much smaller than #BTC?

I think there are beneficial use cases for a private digital cash like Monero. Just as there are beneficial use cases for Bitcoin as digital property with an open, transparent ledger.

The beauty of the free market is that they both can co-exist, in parallel, because the user decides what’s best. Why does it have to be a pissing contest?

Monero is trash and is literally a shitcoin it makes no real progress and for good reason. Monero was nice to mine in 2017 but that was about the only good use case. It’s as useless and stupid as Helium mining was this cycle. Shitcoin is used for good reasons look at all the coins that have come and gone that claim the same useless utility’s as Monero. 2017 cycle was privacy coins. 2020 was NFT’s and ERC-20. People are now thinking AI is the next cycle. It’s all irrelevant in comparison to the king that is Bitcoin scarcity is all that matters. Even if Monero doesn’t rug it’s fat load shit. 💩🤣

Hey all, make sure you back up your Wallet of Satoshi with an email if you just got it. I restored my phone last night and forgot to do that and paid the price. Full NIP57 support is our top priority right now!

We have a LOT of beginners using our wallet though, and once it is announced we expect a huge influx of people trying out nostr for the first time.

NIP57 is very new! and there are a lot of moving parts to it... and we want to make sure everything is tested and working well before that happens. It would be a shame for people to be turned off nostr because zaps had some teething problems.
