working on Alby - enabling consumers and developers to interact with the Bitcoin Lightning Network - the protocol of money – everywhere: in apps and the real world ⚡moritz@getalby.com

Nm. I got it working. Sorry nostr:npub14d488egl5he3r4qy89psn23kz9sql5va8ec39rs7ltcas8ymr76sgk6evk for what ever reason it isn't letting me zap you. Literally every note I've just tried zapping (most of them not worth zapping lol) worked. sorry fam. Glad you're a good sport about it. Literally been tinkering with it this whole time.

Do you receive any error message when you try to zap nostr:npub14d488egl5he3r4qy89psn23kz9sql5va8ec39rs7ltcas8ymr76sgk6evk ?

It could be that some Nostr clients still have the old wallet cached. Sometimes it takes a bit until the information is fully updated.

Yes, you can connect your Alby Bitcoin Account to the Alby Browser Extension or to Damus and other Nostr apps.

For onchain withdrawals from an Alby Account your can use services like boltz.exchange today and soon directly via the Alby Browser Extension.

Thanks for all the information!

I'd try Phoenix if it were on F-Droid. There is already a bug report about this: https://github.com/ACINQ/phoenix/issues/152

Breez has the same problem and a similar bug report: https://github.com/breez/breezmobile/issues/413

I have Zeus and I appear to have it connected to my Alby account. Plan on switching to self custody once Zeus supports it.

https://app.mutinywallet.com/ looks pretty interesting. The fees and liquidity seem like they're pretty confusing for thise people who have never used any cryptocurrency before. And that can't exactly be hidden since it costs about $15 to get started. Not a great look for a technology that makes it sound like it's good for buying a $2 cup of coffee.

I mean, I get that opening a channel requires taking money off chain (thus tying it up). And it looks like the fee for "opening a channel" is just a normal network fee, so like 60¢ as of yesterday.

When I get some sats, I'll send some your way because the documentation on lightning ( https://www.bitcoin.com/get-started/what-is-lightning-network/ ) is not at all actionable, but by reading to docs of all of these wallets combined, the picture is finally starting to emerge.

For any question related to Alby, I am here to help. :-)

if this issue continues, please reach out to support@getalby.com with a screenshot or a video. Happy to help you there.

Alby will show your avatar that was uploaded at your personal Alby page: https://getalby.com/p/moritz also in the browser extension soonTM. (if that is what you mean)

You can connect your Alby Account to Zeus mobile wallet or BlueWallet. Happy to assist :)

Did you connect your Alby Wallet to Damus like:

1) Click on ‘Wallet’ in the Damus menu. You’ll find it behind your avatar icon.

2) Click on ‘Attach Alby Wallet’

3) Log in or create an account and confirm’ the connection to Damus

4) You are redirected to Damus and can finish by clicking on ‘Attach’

You might want to connect again and restart Damus after the connection.

Let me know if that helps.

You can connect Damus directly to your Alby Account for in app payments: https://blog.getalby.com/1tapzap-in-damus-with-alby/ . I haven't tried the MaxOS version though.

The website should check for window.nostr and tell the user yes.

There are further improvements possible for users with multiple Nostr keys: https://github.com/getAlby/lightning-browser-extension/issues/2503

You can connect your Alby wallet to Damus or Nostur and zap profiles of people. What exactly does not work for you?

The likely case is that someone requested an invoice using your Alby lightning address but did not pay it at the end. BlueWallet shows these pending payments but Alby does not. You can verify that yourself by requesting an invoice but not paying it.
