Shame is one of the biggest things that holds us back in our lives, whether we’re conscious of it or not. The more conscious of this we are, the more we can work through it and release it. Learning to do this has been one of the most life altering things I’ve done. The good news is that this is a skill anyone can learn to do.

Spending time on the road by myself is one of my favorite places in the world. Time to myself to think and listen to podcasts and audiobooks. There’s also a part I love about the constraints of driving. You can’t do too many things other than think and learn and drive. Beautiful day with my favorite person. They feel entitled to always getting more and there's never enough of that. They won't like it, but we must start giving to ourselves. First a little and slowly building. This will give begin giving us the strength and capacity we need to finally get out of this toxic cycle. #grownostr
Narcissists know what they are doing. At least to some extent, whether they are consciously aware of it or not.
Otherwise they wouldn’t hide it, excuse it, or deny it, and they certainly wouldn’t continue doing it.

Being out of a narcissistic relationship feels a lot like a hangover. Mind is fuzzy, might have a headache and you definitely feel like crap.
You might be thinking I’ll never do that again, or you may wonder if you just need someone else in your life to distract you from feeling this way.
Either way, there doesn’t seem to be a clear path to feeling better. Unlike a hangover from alcohol, it lasts for more than a day or 2. It can last for months, years, or even decades especially if you find yourself in another relationship with another narcissist.
Detoxing our lives from the toxicity of these relationships takes time and it often doesn’t feel good. It is the path to being healthy again though.
Take the time. Do the work. You are worth it!

Reactive abuse is a regular tactic they use to shame and blame you for their behavior. Like everything else, it's usually subtle and unseen by anyone else. This leads us to question ourselves. Narcissists rob you of your peace, but actually sneak in to steal all the control in your life. They don’t actually care about anything other than control. If they have control over you, they can get supply from you. We don’t have to respond or allow them to control us though.

I laughed a lot for a long time thinking that I had cheated de@th in escaping narcissists. Some of this I realize was a trauma response, but it was also a healthy way of me releasing emotions that had been stuck in my body.

They train and program us into isolation. Once we're there, in many ways it becomes more and more difficult to really know how bad our lives are. This is what they want. They can then do or say anything they want without us hearing that it's not ok. None of this is ok or healthy! #grownostr

Those are definitely not the people I'm referring to. If it was only the language that's one thing. This is just another layer of the crazy making chaos with these people. They use it in a very particular way. I and others didn't think I was mispronouncing a word, but they would continously tell me and make fun of me for that. Unfortunately this was a very small part of the rest of the abuse and manipulation.
