We engineers and developers are exceptionally good at boxing ourselves in or determined to continue walking down a road we've invested energy in. We need those who are maybe not or less technical to show us alternatives that may or may not be better, but being exposed to this alternatives has value.

All I see is you are distracting from the main point.
Its so much favourites, but just to take a couple of simple examples, Spanish and Italian both translate to 'good day' which is not to repeatedly put you on a downer. How many times do you get wished a 'good mourning' every day? Then we wonder why we are sad and depressed as nations?
Think about the words that other non English cultures use to greet each other and what their outlooks on life generally are.

Talking of spellings, when you say good morning to someone, you're casting a spell of good mourning on them. Same with 'hello', cast as oh hell.
