Same here. I spend >5k sats in every #zapathon. But also in the real world, I buy hardware, VPN and other digital and physical goods (including food btw, Bitrefill) using my sats.
Those I was talking about don’t even buy sats anymore. They can literally swap/sell millions of sats everyday to cover all their needs until they retire. They are already driving the ecosystem. Later joiners can’t afford it, unfortunately.
I just think what he says is a false statement from the very beginning. Nobody has ever claimed Nostr is private and everything we say here is extremely private. Idk where he saw claims like that but I haven’t seen a single Nostr dev saying something like that. The core property of Nostr has always been its censorship resistance. You have to physically shut down a large fraction of relays spread all over the world to disturb the network.
The privacy will come later. There’s talks going on between Nostr and SimpleX devs to integrate their encryption protocol as Nostr DMs.
Guy who bought tons of btc in 2011-2017, because they were smart, can afford spending their sats. In fact, I know a few that live 100% on btc. Plebs like me who joined recently and have built their first mini stack will need to hodl, thinking twice before spending every sat.
