What's the story with mobile zaps? Someone was having trouble zapping an article of mine the other day. Might have been user error, but it seems like the mobile zap integration is weird right now everywhere?

Not exactly. A lot of the carbon is incorporated into the bodies of microbes and fungus that participate in the decomposition process and remains sequestered in the soil.

Ruminants are an important component of the natural carbon cycle, too, farts and all. The buffalo collaborated with prairie grasses and regular wildfires over many thousands of years to build those deep soils that the European settlers found when they arrived in the Great Plains.

What makes good soil black? Carbon. Where does the carbon come from? CO2 metabolized by photosynthesis and incorporated into plant roots, stems, and leaves. @koby is correct.

Never thought about it, but if you treated it like humanure that would certainly work and avoid any problems with disease, parasites, etc.

But that sounds like a lot of work. I'd probably opt for a simpler treebog-style system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treebog): basically a pit planted around with willows, with a source of carbon, like sawdust.

1. Toss the poop into pit.

2. Sprinkle some sawdust on top.

3. Let the willows enjoy their candy.

4. Harvest the willows for animal fodder.

Of course, you still have to scope the poop. You could probably train a young pup to do his business nearby and save yourself some work.

The biggest challenge is the complete lack of recoverability when inevitably a customer loses his keys and a website owner is made to look like a chump because there's nothing much he can do to help.

You'll probably have to go through and compare a lot of stupid numbers over time to find the smart ones!

If I were you I'd axe or ignore any "# goes up and to the right" charts like "total profiles" or "total zaps" . They're emotionally satisfying but analytically useless.

Cohort analysis like you're doing there can be super useful for building communities, according to my own research and study.

Especially you want to find ways to expose trends in disengagement: at what point do most folks drop out? # of contributions? # of days? Is there a threshold of responses from other members below which they do out?

Knowing these trends gives the community useful information to tune new member engagement efforts.

It would be helpful to know something about what kinds of content keeps new members around, both posting and following. There's a lot of Bitcoin content here obv. Are newcomers starved for other kinds, and going back to greener pastures?

It'd be interesting to see if interaction with this new #grownostr content effort provides any lift in long term engagement.
