What are you alternative means of fostering education for your kids ?

'Kids will take a chance. If they don’t know, they’ll have a go. They are not frightened of being wrong. And if you are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original'

interesting. I think the history of advertisement has been something as simple and innocent in capturing attention, evolved into a somewhat irrational pursuit, pushing companies to conform by investing heavily. I wonder though if some infusion of socialism would balance this - ie some cut off of allowable funds and expected returns to push everyone into a middle range bandwidth - everyone gets equal opportunity and access

if its my country, likely it is described as "charity" so that some politicians can swindle most of the monies allocated for this lol. I don't know India enough but I do wonder, in such a heavy agriculture-based country, why not enable people instead? Why do you want them to be so dependent on governments? The dependency is what makes it really dangerous for the people.

me too! I love it! so many different topics and contents, its refreshing!

checking out global feed after a long time, and there is just so much going on there. Many people, many pockets of conversations - some controversial, some better than your bold and the beautiful versions, bits of dramas here and there, some brain-drain friendly, some info-friendly. It's nice to come out of the bubble every and then

its a great book and a good reminder, refresher! Adding to your pointers, some notes I jotted down some time back :

1. Sometimes a person is pressuring you to do something; other times the pressure comes from your own sense of what you “should” do. If you cannot say no to this external/internal pressure, you have lost control of your boundaries and self-control.

2. Putting the blame on others - “I had to” or “She (he) made me” when explain- ing why we did or did not do something. These phrases betray our basic illusion that we are not active agents in many of our dealings.

3. Setting our own internal limits. We need to have spaces inside ourselves where we can have a feeling, an impulse, or a desire, without acting it out. We need self-control without repression, say no to ourselves. Delayed gratification is important

4. We must own our own thoughts. Certainly we should listen to thoughts of others and weigh it; but we should never “give our minds” over to anyone. We are to weigh things for ourselves - and in the context of relationship, “sharpening” each other as iron, but remaining separate thinkers.

Thanks for sharing!

Picked up a book on health choices during my lunch break and ended up reading Hillary's leaked emails. The author Marion Nestle, with over 30 yrs experience in nutrition, a lecturer, speaker, with a Ph.D. in food nutrition, and several honorary doctorates, found herself in a conversation in the leaked emails between Hillary and Coca Cola. Coca Cola sought to monitor her as she preached on the harmful effects of sugar while boosting healthy living - Coca Cola is one of Hillary's donors.

I remember vaguely reading on Hillary's leaked emails when the issue was hot, but reading a bit more now on the content and oh boy - major donors demand on how politics is shaped to favour them, their business and their pockets. Others are foreign donors requiring specific country-based interventions. In one of it, Hillary is seemingly frustrated in the challenges of pursuing covert operations due to high risk of media exposure these days. Ironically, these 20,000 leaked emails were up on Assange’s WikiLeaks. In fact, one of their fav donors is an Israeli donor which made me rethink the entire Camp David initiative. A few years late in reaction but urrgghh…

i love this way of thinking. the calculations, though seemingly small, are a significant attraction. Positive numbers make a substantial difference in perception. And anything innovative that eases up adoption is a win

To be more accurate on the ocean pool (and anyone can correct me if i am wrong) :

its like an X + Y concept, whereby X is the core tech, the decentralised mining pool where anyone can join in, and join in with ease, and fair split payment etc. The Y can be your expanded Y1, Y2, Y3 high powered pools - and in this case Y1 is hydropowered. There are just so many ways to expand this and create many pockets of entrepreneurship, the possibilities are very interesting.

I like it very much. I like the idea of making it easy for anyone to be involved, and incentivising miners right. I like the principles and genuineness behind it. The fact that this unfolds in the US, showcases Bitcoin's +ve impact on renewables despite regulatory hurdles. And they can replicate and increase this types of solutions which makes it expandable and investor friendly for growth.

I also really love the concept of incentivizing more innovations around ‘renewables x bitcoin minings’ around the world.

Another idea is to fund Bitcoin homeowners in exchanging roofs for solar panels, allowing them to offset cost (panels, installation) through monthly energy generation. This not only facilitates Bitcoin mining but also generates additional income for homeowners over time. And benefits the country with additional supply. It's a concept that’s being tested here (not for Bitcoin) but it appears promising. Offering bounties for innovative solutions in repurposing or reducing heat for home miners would be pretty awesome too. All these efforts increases small pockets of entrepreneurship around the Bitcoin ecosystem globally (cc nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m in the event these ideas are relevant and catches on)

I think enabling these types of innovative paths is just awesome. It gets the fire started and going. Super loved how crude and dirty and original the hydro power plant was shown - real world.

I just loved that my morning started with so much of positive energy! =)

hello...

(the lionel richie style)

hahaha - this is going to be a month of massive self discovery for you.

Btw, both you and my big brother have similar jobs, likely similar age, and same name =) And both are kind and positive. But I haven't got him into - what must not be named for this month - yet - hopefully someday soon!

very impressed with this resistance capacity and massive creativity, you got this 💪 - Can't wait for the Jan 1 Derek Ross unleashed!
