Great stuff Pablo. From a principle perspective sounds great, but from realistic perspective people may not want to spend so much time and effort into research and writing, only for it to be edited out without substantiation. I was just sharing with Karnage about this wiki idea a week before this, so i am not sure if its related.

The cons of wiki is that it is favouring who backs it. The pros however is that it has several categories which makes it a bit more wholesome. It also supports secondary tier jobs for researchers and writers, and it encourages famous people or companies to circulate among their circles - all this little factors makes the tool itself a self marketing element - which is why it has 10 billion views a month.

I think the ideas behind diff biases are great be it human or human tuned LLMs. Even references and substantiations has its own bias unless if its hardcore evidence like wikileaks. But the challenge remains on the effort put in by someone completely being wiped out - as this can dissuade contributors.

But if you never try, never know. So no harm giving it a try and figuring it out as it goes. Good luck Pablo, it has a lot of potentials!

love DVF's approach to life. And that we share the same bday

Saw this last week and I thought to myself that you foresaw it several years ahead and intercepted re twitter, and of course that led to many dramatic outcomes. While there were many naysayers then, I guess you can’t cover up extremism forever (be it left or right). It took several years after your interception for the real problem to finally come to light. Just wild.

In the mid 50’s, 8 scientists were overwhelmed with William Shockley, Nobel prize winner on transistors. Shockley was bureaucratic, authoritarian, erratic, believed in eugenics, had severe distrust of his people and forced them to take lie detector tests, and did not want to innovate. Much like all gov'ts I guess.

The 8 scientists had enough, they left. Shockley’s investors invested in them. They were called the “traitorous 8” aka the 50’s rebel group.

They went on to create Fairchild, invented ICs and transformed the electronics industry. 2 of them founded Intel and changed the computing industry. Their style was on expanding innovations, egalitarian. Maybe uncle Bob nostr:npub19mun7qwdyjf7qs3456u8kyxncjn5u2n7klpu4utgy68k4aenzj6synjnft might know this story better and can shed some light.

But from what I read, that’s how Silicon Valley started.

Maybe Silicon Valley needs another round of “rebel groups” like the traitorous 8 to reduce extreme polarization.

Maybe the US needs them too, to break down their bureaucracy and start afresh - so that the US can go further and faster. Maybe all countries need it.

You can call the rebel groups Bitcoiners, Nostr or anything you want. But they break extreme polarization, open and transparent and focus on growth - which truly benefits the people.

Fido is gaining his appetite back and putting on some weight again with his new meds, which means he is going to be taking me out for walks everyday again lol ❤️

love it! maybe light shades of red + blue (= purple) as a symbol wikifreedia is for all ?

Many years back I used to teach in a children protection centre after work. This was a voluntary job. These kids are not orphans, they have parents but were abandoned or abused (it’s very heartbreaking).

There was one kid, he was 6 and quite a rebel - he was new to the centre, his mom abused him repeatedly, and his dad abandoned him. He kept waiting for his mom to come pick him up.

It took me a long time for me to establish trust with him. He was a very smart kid, he picked up maths on a whimsical. During Christmas, I got all the kids gifts, but I intentionally got him the largest train I could fight. He was the so proud to have a gift taller than him. He didn’t even open it for a week and slept with it. Later on I learnt it was the first gift he ever received.

I taught for a few years and eventually moved away to a diff state for a diff job. But I’ve always wondered what happened to this kid and the rest of the kids and how their lives turned out. I will never be able to understand how people have the heart to abuse their kids

To some extend this is like enabling shitcoin into bitcoin through trojan horse method. Also, e-cash is not cash. Its not even what the original e-cash intended as original e-cash removes 3rd party banks, not establish 3rd party banks.

This "e-cash" is token, similar to the token you use in casino.

You can exchange hundreds of thousands of "bitcoin valued" tokens and sure, lots of "privacy" but , it wont impact bitcoin transactional value used in the casino other than what you use to buy and sell the tokens.

Cash on the other hand impacts all transactional value and this is valuable economic indicator on how fluid bitcoin is.

Maybe there are use cases and we should look into that. I am 100% for looking into the use cases.

But the misconception and misbranding is what worries me. Most people are not able to explain what it is but are drawn into this herd mentality.

channeling 'Mamba Mentality' this week. What's your fav Kobe Bryant quote ?

Some of mine :

- If I fail today, I’m going to learn something from that failure. I’m going to try again.

- You have to work hard in the dark to shine in the light

- Everything negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise

- Some people enjoy looking at a watch; others are happier figuring out how the watch works.

what are some of your gums hygiene habits ? I have become a big fan of Red Seal's propolis toothpaste - can't possibly go back to the paraben ones, and picked up oil pulling - ayurveda technique using coconut oil

Some of my final engineering gigs I worked on included working with 2 satellite companies - one owned by the gov’t who paid foreign vendors to set everything up and had no clue on basic signal detection. I conducted signal measurements training for them.

The 2nd client was a private company, had some of the most advanced engineers I’ve worked with, they were 20-30 years older but respectful. This was on system setup consultation and problem mitigation for cross signals and intermodulations.

Back home the engineering profession was niche. I covered 5 countries, hundreds of clients, managed 2 teams, non-stop travel, and was paid only $1k - $1.5k. I was tired, underpaid. Also only female, only minority, only one who rocks the damn heels with a drill.

Eventually I decided to start my own business providing engineering services - There were many potential clients who needed solutions, for example one was on setting up wireless key test measurement for automobile manufacturers. Another was on setting up EMC lab for military vehicles.

I design the system, create the proposal, but somebody else will always win the bid using my solutions and outsource it back to me for 10% lol.

I was too timid to say anything. But I was beginning to understand how the business world in corrupt countries worked.

In my country most of the major deals cannot be awarded to minorities (by law) but more than anything it was corrupt - you need to know somebody on the inside, pay under table money to get the deal.

So I gave up on that business and tried a few other things and eventually explored low level tech. Startups started to vibe in recent years and I picked it up, but little did I realise it was also controlled by the govt who were corrupt. I was beginning to understand the importance of the free market.

During this time not many people understood entrepreneurship. Startups differ from normal businesses because innovations demand early adopters and higher cost among many other things. I had wonderful friends but I had no one to talk to.

So I just doubled down and learned everything I could. Pursued higher grad, worked with startups globally, picked up insane reading.

It took me a long time but this helped charter a few ways out of my problems and I started working towards them.

I still have a long way to go, but at least now I have a path.

My goal is upward mobility so that my nephews and my children (if i am lucky someday) will live a life where they can have options. This goal keeps me going on most days.

But sometimes I can’t help wondering if I could have gotten much further in life, much faster if I had diff opportunities, diff environment.

This is also why when I first learned about Bitcoin, I completely fell in love with it. You would be able to see how many problems around the world can slowly go away when global adoption picks up.

Anyways, here’s to taking every chance you get and keep moving forward in whichever way possible, no matter what the circumstances are. Because if you don’t, you will get left behind.

And here’s to another weekend of non stop work lol.

rough day today,

needed a mood-boost

so I coded a simple Wikipedia proof-of-concept
