More people who actually work in the field of science/technology need to write for these publications.
It may be fake, but I could believe this. It seems on brand for him.
There’s an only likes mode now?! Things change so quickly around here. I can’t keep up.
Don’t worry too much. People aren’t listening half the time tbh.
However, we can apply those principles to create inventions that fulfill our needs. That’s how I conceptualize things anyways. My view may be simplistic though.
I would say discovered. Mathematical principles exist around us, but it’s up to us to notice and understand them.
Nostr universe, what is a #zapathon? Do you just send random sats to people who you follow?
Math is fundamental. If you have a strong foundation in math, then you can do almost any STEM field. I’m kicking myself relying on cramming during college. Now I have re-learn things like calculus and linear algebra for my field.
More power to you. Some things you can’t do sober.
Sorry to hear that. It may be time to visit your PCP.
TGIF! I can’t wait for the weekend!
My brain hyping me up before in person meetings 😂 https://nostr.build/av/nostr.build_b702da7796f97297ee0b639d3ca17bf696cd7334b9e332a79c530e71eeee5bb3.mov
I can relate. I hate meetings.
Damus has the look and feel of a traditional social media app, so people are viewing recent changes from that context. Traditional social media makes it easy for people to passively consume and engage with content. Without the option to like a post, people are forced to either comment or give up a valuable resource. It raises the barrier to engagement. Not sure whether it’s a good or bad thing. It probably depends on what your ultimate goal is for this platform.
Exactly! I also think part of the pushback is that people may perceive “only zaps” as begging for money especially when a user is not an active participant or developer on nostr. If you’re not making tangible contributions to the community, then “only zaps” can feel like virtual panhandling. However, people have the right to engage or not engage, so it shouldn’t be a big deal or create such strong reactions from people.
Does it ultimately matter if the person is not going to see your like? You’re liking a post to show appreciation. Why not just comment instead or zap them a penny?
Is available with the current build?
All the boring stuff that I’ve been avoiding like spring cleaning and writing papers.
Sounds amazing! Hopefully, you’ll post photos of your progress for inspiration.
