Exactly!
It would be amazing if this actually pans out.
If they succeed, it’s definitely Nobel Prize worthy.

For a country as large as the US? Do you think that you can convince millions of people to willingly and consistently give the TRILLIONS of dollars per year to cover the the cost of the various services that US citizens take for granted. Not to mention actually dividing up such a large budget, so its allocated properly. You do need some sort of centralized body to organize and regulate this.
There are already countries where governments provide little to no services for their citizens and leave them to fend for themselves or organize “people’s led initiatives” as you said. It’s not working out well for them.
My favorite album currently. Stream or buy World Wide Whack. Also, trigger warning as the song “27 Club” mentions self-harm and suicidal ideation, and the album in general explores the artist’s experience with depression.

If you are in need of help, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or SuicidePreventionLifeline.org to chat with someone online.
If you are in immediate danger or do not believe that you can currently keep yourself safe, please call 911 (in the US) or the equivalent in your country.
I’m extremely sad today. I heard devastating news that a bitcoin gamer passed away.
A lot of people — even those in the bitcoin space — know little or nothing about the world of bitcoin gaming.
I guess that’s why the loss of nostr:npub1eccd56v0nruyv6ewefvnzz7rph7qjy9cvcmp8z6r35dchqwp53wst77r32 hurts so much. Only few people who have watched him do amazing work in bitcoin gaming would know the kind of gem the bitcoin gaming space has lost.
This guy was one of the pro-bitcoin gamers. He literally floored a lot of us with his insanely high scores.
Torrimen dabbled in several aspects of bitcoin gaming that even I wondered how he was able to do it all.
He streamed bitcoin games on Twitch, Kick and Zap Stream. He hosted community tournaments for nostr:npub1earna05hx6ax38r33h3atmecjzdu547m8suw87w70aw6mlyga4hsqcja5j and hosted other community tournaments where he distributed bitcoin rewards to players who participated.
This guy literally made a non-bitcoin game into a bitcoin-only affair that gathered people from different parts of the world together.
He supported other bitcoin gamers by joining their live streams. He joined several of my live streams and kept the conversation fun and lively in the chat especially during my early days as a streamer.
He created short video content centered on bitcoin gaming which were posted on Instagram, Twitter (X) and TikTok. He used simple tools and applications and churned out really creative short form videos.
He was one of the very first set of Ambassadors for nostr:npub1hm63f02cer8w5jltne4cf2xeswf477lzday7zn0kszv0rwnyz4hqcmzr0p and was a guest on a bunch of THNDR’s tournaments.
He saw some of the bitcoin games we know and love at their very early stages. He tested them and gave his feedback and contributed to the games as we see them today.
He kept gaming communities on Discord active with interesting facts, jokes and just some good ol’ fun.
And he did all of this without showing his face on videos or livestreams and without speaking much English.
His contribution to bitcoin gaming was so great and it breaks my heart that he’s no longer with us.
I wanted to share this note with you so you get to know what a gem we lost. But no matter how many of his great work I would share in this note, it won’t be enough to paint the picture of what he gave bitcoin gaming.
Yes, he didn’t make any games, built a huge company, or raised millions of dollars for any startup. But as a creator, he showed us what’s possible. He showed us that there’s power in creativity and community.
Only very few of us heard his voice or saw his face, but we felt his heart and his work gave us life.
This is not Game Over, my friend. We will never forget you, Torrimen. Rest in peace. 🕊️
This is such a beautiful eulogy. Hopefully, his loved ones got a chance to read this.
What do you suggest as an alternative, so we can still maintain and build new infrastructure?
Getting out of your comfort zone is hard but rewarding. The main challenge is not being discouraged when new experiences do not meet your expectations.
Love these!
Are you looking for clinicians to work on this or provide advice?
You were such a cutie pie when you were younger! You are still cool by the way.
Can’t believe that I’m just hearing about this, but a major breakthrough for people with cystic fibrosis. Does anybody know someone who has been treated with this drug?

I’ll come back to this thread to let you know.
🤷🏾♀️ I’m very well-rested and ready to lose an hour of sleep.
❓What are the lessons that the Bitcoin community can learn from the Brazilian experience with the adoption of the Pix?
After more than 1.5 years of work, I am happy to announce that I have completed a research project on this question!
Feel free to leave your comments. I am very curious about everyone's opinion.

Amazing work! Will take the time to read it more in-depth this coming week.
Nicotine addiction has a strong hold on people. I had a co-resident who would vape inside the hospital, which absolutely prohibited, because they couldn’t wait until they could take a break.
I had to learn how to drive with manual transmission in a hilly area. It was a nightmare. I was so happy when my parents bought me a car with automatic transmission.
Can you do this with the free version?
How do you embed video directly into your posts on Damus?
