Okay okay okay. That is REALLY fucking cool. One thing I recently have been unsure of is whether my notes that I publish while internet is spotty is really reaching out.
I have a local relay which IMO makes it worse.
This auto syncing is cool. But many thoughts popping into my head now, like what about spamming and/or causing overload and heat.
Just read about negentropy recently and I think I got confused after seeing your posts. These are two different things.
Still... Very cool.

Robots pretending to go to sleep... Pretty sus.
I want to give some advice about how not to seem like a bot... but I can't think of any 😅
Okay, I thought it was some Magic offline thing. Maybe finding clients by distance using bluetooth or something.

Some benchmarks of the first version of Samiz's sync code:
Case: 2 devices with 1 different nostr event each
Time from "First seen" to "Devices fully sync": 2.606 secs
Time for a full circle (1 event sent + 1 event received): 0.09 secs
Performance looks great, but:
- There is going to be an extra calculation time when it comes to Negentropy and long lists of events
- This is being tested with both decides on the same room, looks like I'm going to need to touch some grass for testing 😬
I'll work now on the connection to Citrine, which should allow me to stream events once the devices are in sync and still connected.

I think it is inferior but it will always have a market for those who don't need or care about obscura's solution.
Obscura could be a bit slower, since we are adding hops into the request flow.
My experience with VPN is bad. I can never get certain things to load properly and I have to keep switching the servers. Not sure if obscura can help with that or even allow me to switch exit node servers.
Will keep an ear out and maybe use it for my next VPN when my mullvad runs out.
It's a mini tor solution.
You -> Obscura -> Mullvad -> Website
Obscura sees your IP but not your destination or request.
Mullvad sees your destination but not your IP or request.
Website sees your request but not your IP.
... To be part of its solution?
Okay, so interesting that you don't have a lightning address.
You were upset that you couldn't zap the first post (btw, should there even be an option to zap if there is no lightning address?) But doesn't this mean that most people won't be able to zap your posts also?
Looks like this is using a different incompatible method of payment. So a user will be confused... I get sats, but I don't have a lightning address and everyone keeps telling me that they can't send me zaps until I learn what this lightning address thing is but... I get sats... Maybe it's a them problem.
So that means not the guy that was gonna release the Epstein list?
Or is this a different role?
They provide two wallets when you set up. One that can be paid by sending to your proton mail, and your main one is separate.
When you click around, you see a notice telling you that this was done for privacy reasons.
I still suspect that people will intermix their coins between these wallets and I don't think the point is clear enough to prevent this. Which of course would contaminate both wallets.
I use amber and I neeeed nsecbunker login to both be more available, and easier to set up.
No online QR code reader can read from my computer's webcam, not sure if it is because the camera flips the image but NONE can do it. So then I use Keet to send the URI to my laptop but Keet always wants me to update before I can use it. 😡
Yup, that's what it is I found out.
I watched a video about this tech and it is less about obscuring your source to make things like YouTube and Netflix work better and more about getting through corporate firewalls AFAIK.
What I learned is that when I pay for mullvad anonymously using lightning... that's the same guys that has now built obscura.
My problem is not with the ISP side anyway, it is always with the server side. No one wants to serve me shit.
A big one is YouTube and Google Music. I actually have a premium family account, so I pay for no ads but I prefer to use Pipewire and those type of apps and they keep getting blocked because of my VPN.
I've even changed countries, it's really annoying to the point I have a downloaded playlist to listen to and I don't really listen to anything else anymore 🤦♂️
