Anyone on here order tree saplings in bulk?
I’ve gotten shipments from Missouri dept of conservation the past few years but am wondering if there’s other states or businesses that offer something similar. Heard Kentucky also has a program.

I always set a remainder for sept 1st when ordering opens back up. Generally they deliver them in early spring.
Hope this is helpful for someone looking for #permaculture or #homesteading trees. ✌️

Never thought to use the broadfork for removing lawn. Do you just go kinda shallow?
Will have to try it out
Thanks. Couldn’t quite figure it out lol
Wow I’m not great at this yet. Maybe this works..

Not sure, we barter our eggs for them from a friend.
They mostly use sawdust compressed in bags as the substrate. Doesn’t seem too complex
Mushroom peeps out there, how do you guys use or preserve Lions Mane?
I generally just pull them apart, dehydrate and make into a powder.
Open to new ideas though..

Wow thanks for sharing!
I just built some of these for a client a few weeks ago. I think she paid like 4 times that amount from tractor supply. I just texted the link to her in case she wants more lol
If you’re on your phone try updating the app. Damus was doing the same thing to me then I updated and it worked fine
Lol. I’ve been contemplating how I can incorporate a sauna with a greenhouse for winter where I can exhaust the woodstove into the greenhouse for heat and co2
Just sold my first tree out of the home nursery. The guy fumbled with Venmo first, finally gave up then got Zelle to work after another 5 minutes. Probably 15 minutes of wasted time.
I said we could do Bitcoin via Lightning and be done in 20 seconds to no response lol.
If anyone’s in central Texas and needs affordable homestead trees I got you…
Have 10-20 of each of the following in various sizes (mostly 1-5 gallon pots):
Paw Paw
Osage Orange
Black Walnut
Wild Plum
Shellbark Hickory
Hazelnut
Elderberry
Persimmon
Aronia Berry
Witchhazel
Serviceberry
Bur Oak
Chinkapin Oak
White Oak
Rose Mallow
Dwarf cavendish banana
1-2 gallon for 25k sats ($7 fiat)
3-5 gallon for 50k sats ($15)
10 gallon and up for 75k sats ($20)
Some of them like the serviceberry I’m experimenting with and not sure how well they’ll produce in Texas, so ymmv. Anyone that made it this far- have a great day!

Thanks y’all! I’ve done the store them at an angle when they were in a different location and that lowered the amount of water buildup but the squigglers still appeared unless I got the last of the water.
Might just go for the tarp idea and see if that works well enough, probably will use a huge one that’s double or tripled folded so the water doesn’t sag.
Thanks again, always good to get others perspective
These feed barrels always catch just enough water after a rain for mosquitos to grow in.
So I have to manually splash the water out after each rain thanks to the design of the lids. Grateful for rain always but this is a PITA.
Anyone have a solution to this besides being under a roof or a sheet of metal that’ll flap around?

The medicine is popping!
Bee balm, skullcap, comfrey, oregano in front of grapevines that shield a shipping container from the western sun.
The comfrey on the left was 3” tall in a 4” pot, planted a month ago.
Have lard and tallow galore and am wondering how you guys infuse yours? Crockpot, double boiler?
Any advice is welcome!
My wife is the herbal medicine practitioner of the family but hasn’t done much with comfrey yet.

What are the workhorses of your kitchen or homestead?
For us it’s the dehydrator, pressure cooker and crock pots. Basically at least 2 of them are running every day.
This week it’s been a lot of pecan cracking from last years harvest now that planting season has died down. We like to soak/sprout them then dehydrate. Also bone broth is almost always running in a crock pot.
Also am curious about freeze dryers if anyone has one. Are they worth it?

This is worth listening to if you want to know more about him. I agree with him on most of his answers
It’s probably not an all-encompassing list, so if you know of a place that fits the criteria then submit it!

I think they even take tips in btc for running the website
