My understanding is the existing Spot ETFs in Canada (which we've had a couple of years now) use Cash Creates and they've always tracked the BTC price well.
Not an expert on this but I've seen a couple of explanations of what a "Cash Create" means, and this is the sort of thing I see:

Imagine when this dude brings back the Moa...

I think I have been a bit unfair to nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq recently - respect the massive pressure of running a no kyc bitcoin custodian.
Sincerely hope there is never a rug.
Here's the dilemma I have:
I use WoS solely for zaps on Nostr, which means I never keep more than say $10 worth of sats in that wallet. I would love to have a non-custodial solution that is *easy*. Here's the thing, I'm a scientist/engineer by training and know how to code. So for me the technical side is not an issue. I've spent a bit of time looking into non-custodial solutions to deal with zaps, but I'm not going to put in a bunch of effort to set this up in my node (which I'm running), to mitigate the risk of losing $10 worth of sats. The opportunity cost of doing so is too high for me at this time as I have a busy life and a relatively young family. Setting up WoS to send/receive zaps took literally minutes, and if someone could recommend a non-custodial solution to do the same thing I did with WoS I'm open to it.
A CBDC is almost preferable to this. 😂
In Canada the last public holiday/observance before Christmas is Remembrance Day (Nov 11). Needless to say I have now heard Christmas music in the stores the last few days. Pretty standard every year.
Maybe there's a strategy to make a pile of money on getting advertisers to send more to you as targeted advertising... I'm thinking back to the 90s with the Million Dollar Homepage where some person created a 1000×1000 pixel grid, with each pixel linkable to an external webpage and then sold each pixel for $1.
It's somewhat annoying for sure, but at least it's costing them something.
What an absolute rubbish headline and even worse article.

I deactivated my account almost two weeks ago now, and I haven't looked back, though it did take me a while to get there - spent easily a few months in a pretty similar position to the one you allude to now. Ultimately, not judging you either way - the hard part for me was that I spent a fair bit of time curating my feed so there was some hesitance to pull the plug.
For me, the thing that did it was Elon indicating he wanted it to be a financial service platform like WeChat, and that's a hard line for me.
Now I find it nice to have one less distraction.
That's what I was thinking too... there are plenty of non-KYC ways to buy - how would anyone know?
If you’re a worker and “you’re trading your time for money, make sure your money will hold up over time.”
This and so much more in tomorrow’s TPB release with Dom Bei and nostr:npub1r526lguznz3txn0uf7x0an2vymtp8zu5cprmkf84reht3p7j27asmh9pgs discussing their nonprofit Proof of Workforce

Well said. The common laments that "nobody plans for the future anymore" and "everything is all about consumerism". When framed as "we trade time for money that loses its value over time", the common laments make perfect sense, don't they?
Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

Does he expect Bonds to die?
I'm not American, but isn't there parody laws that cover the exact thing that Bitcoin Magazine was doing? I remember a hilarious episode of Nathan For You in which he opened a coffee shop called Dumb Starbucks and was in the clear to use a modified version of the Starbucks logo under parody law.
I just saw an interesting thought experiment by Neil Degrasse Tyson that takes on veganism. Admittedly it's a bit out there but it's still a compelling point. Tl;dr it's basically that if you imagine a species of sentient space aliens that are plant based in that they do photosynthesis for their energy. If they come and visit earth and see these animals (us) specifically targeting plant matter and their embryos (fruits, nuts, etc), they would see us as horrible creatures.
I believe the clip I saw was from his podcast Star Talk.
Agreed. I deactivated my account over the weekend. Haven't missed it.
Your list pretty much aligns with mine, though I'd probably swap out decentralization with one of those (though perhaps one could argue interoperability is a subset/consequence of decentralization). One thing I really like that I wouldn't include in any top 3 per se (but it's a real nice-to-have) is the ability to format a note more logically with a mix of images/media and text, meaning you can have text, then media, then more text, rinse & repeat. This is contrasted with in legacy platforms all images/media is forced to the bottom even if it doesn't make logical formatting sense in the context of a larger post.
Never thought I'd see the day that Bitcoin was praised so highly and eloquently in the House of Commons. Amazing!
