Medical and health insurance is a scam. Other types of insurance not so much. Without insurance half of the economy wouldn’t exist.

If you consider insurance to be a scam, you can always change providers or simply not take out insurance, such as home insurance, which is not required by the state, or medical insurance, which is also not required.

On the other hand, you cannot avoid taxes, even though they are a scam.

In Spain, the government literally takes 50% of what I earn from my salary alone. If I add other taxes such as VAT, it takes practically 70% or more of what I earn.

With 50% of my salary, I could:

- Take out private health insurance that is much better than public coverage, which is a real disaster.

- Enroll my children in a top private school.

- Save for my retirement and not need a pension.

- Pay for private roads, if necessary. In Spain, the concept of private highways already exists and should be extended to all roads so that the state does not administer them, and now you will understand why.

- Take out private security insurance (if it existed).

And I assure you that I would have more than half of my money left over.

Why the hell do we need a state? It is totally inefficient. In exchange, they take more from me than it would cost me to replace all the services offered by the state, and even for quality services, I would still have half my money left over.

It was set Up to trap me into the self employed system for several years, convincing me I would be getting ahead when the reality after expenses is glaringly the opposite. Did you know the average self employed person in Spain earns 700€ a month! The benefits system makes that feasible, but what a waste of resources.

It is so easy to point fingers and escalate the divisions and inequalities, but It it's getting time to decide not to.

Understand that financial issues stress everyone into daft decisions and reactions - the local business cutting service and serving crap just to make ends meet needs support, just as the customers need to tell them to wise Up or lose all custom. Ditto govts and políticians need to be constructively confronted and told that their reliance on the Fiat system has to change else all walls Will come tumbling down, no moat wide or Deep enough to protect anyone in the system, especially the fiat wealthy.
