Aye, I seem to rember we used to have demotivational posters and what not, but something was only memeing if people actually enjoyed it and spread variants of some part of it's general idea.
I don't like how the word "meme" has come to mean any image/video that's some level of a joke.
A meme should only be a joke that's gone viral.
For me it's just the pleasure of holding something of intristic value. Inflation resistance is neat bonus.
And in a collapse situation, silver won't be worth much and I'm not sure gold has any value.
Both are more likely to survive a fire though, which allows for some home savings.
