Visited with my maternal grandmother today. Her dementia is getting worse each time I see her. She was already a very ornery elder before dementia so that doesn't help. Today she had a bad cough from poor air quality. My niece said that she's been burning incense over and over because she's forgotten that she's done it already.
Her primary caregiving family members don't recognize her changing behavior as rooted in dementia. Maybe they're right and it's just grandma being grandma. I don't interact with her everyday so I feel like I don't have a right to say anything.
It just sucks to see her like this 😥

I really enjoyed NK Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy
couldn't sleep last night, so I wondered "If Nostr was a flower, what would it be?"
I fell asleep after a while but when I woke up, the answer came easily. The flower for Nostr is the cornflower.

When I get back home to the States, I'm gonna start cranking out some practical, daily use stuff like hand towels, totes and blankets to sell/trade with fellow nostriches. I have a floor loom at home that's made for this kind of one person cottage industry. I'm so so excited.
