Perhaps I'm still a bit of an NPC, but I'm still thrilled I just cast my vote in the Taiwan election 🥳 Taiwan's path to democracy is really special and hard-fought it's still amazing all the different faces of people willing to participate, can almost feel the energy at the polls -- somehow it feels that every vote matters. I don't feel the same way about my votes cast in the States Taiwanese don't see eye to eye on a lot of issues yet somehow after all the votes are counted they find common ground to chart a path forward.

compared to the last election cycle I pretty much haven't been paying attention in politics and even around the dinner table the topic is seldomly brought up (the aunts and uncles used to always discuss the topic-du-jour). But it is confusing that nostr is not whatever is being linked to, it will more than likely just be a microblogging client on nostr. So you could have the client logo there instead? nostr is a protocol. what it IS is hard to represent in a logo. how it makes us feel and how it represents us is more important. the designer should approach it more like they're designing a symbol, not a logo. think logo of St Judes Children Hospital vs the caduceus symbol.

Client logos, I could not care less what someone decides on. It’s their product. But it is pretty ballsy and odd to claim that “people” are asking for this as a general use Nostr logo and then not identify them. I have not seen talk of this. I highly doubt “people” are clamoring for this. I suspect there are one or two individuals who prefer not to use the ostrich imagery. That’s their prerogative. Do what they want. But don’t pretend it’s something that the people want.
