This thread about reddit jacking around the devs is an example of why I keep saying that "all nostr devs need to do is keep building".
Every time the black box tech companies or government shills do something stupid there will be a mass awakening about nostr. It will grow in jolts, sort of like when you close a 50 amp breaker and the power rushes through to a thirsy air conditioning compressor. Every time they cut power to one group, nostr will get an in-rush!
The problem with saylor is his pragmatic attitude toward countries and governements. He says all 'these other' distributed applications are a "waste of energy and effort". He will change his tune when his friendly government leaders decide to treat him like julian assange or a J6 protester.
This part was great: Saylor said...
"In the absense of god running the monetary system, the next best idea is you create a computer software program that will run such shared immutable ledger..."
The problem has always been greed and abuse by those in power. Bitcoin fixes this... for the interim, until God cleans house.
I agree with you on this, except that Religions twist the truth to fit their traditions and doctrines, just as much as the rest of secular society do, and in some cases even more.
Stick with the inspired word of god: add nothing, and take nothing away. Forgiveness and tolerance have limits, especially without repentence, and observation of god's word. -rev 2:20, -rev 22:18-19 -1John2:4
I believe in a "god" but I am not so arrogant as to believe I can define "god" as even a being as we think of it. I consider god a singularity of all consciousness, thought, knowledge and existence. I am comfortable saying that is all we can know.
A lot of my thoughts on this stuff are here https://moderndeist.org/
Religion has caused confusion to abound. There is great truth to be known, but the traditions of men distort that truth. Across the board, religion takes a little truth and wraps it up in a blanket of lies. This tends to turn people away, and for good reason.
For those who truly want to seek truth, it is available. The biggest problem with that is that often, the truth hurts. Prepare your heart for some vexation in learning the truth, if you dare. - eccl 1:18
Dependency and withdrawl are more serious than you can imagine. The drugs are a last resort. Doctors have many incentives that have nothing to do with health. Wish I knew then what I know now.
In memory of all who served, thank you.

Completely agree on all you say. I was impelled to comment because AI is a tool much like a gun. It has a trigger and someone can jery rig up lots of ways to pull the trigger, but it's still the human taking the shot, not the string tied to the trigger, routed through a pulley, behind a curtain.
Those doing the conspiring are in fact aware that fear is a powerful control lever. Much of the fear is an illusion made believeable through constant marketing of the threat. Yes the threat is real, in the same way that the threat of a few well trained men could, say, derail train cars full of toxic chemicals, or destroy a remote gas pipeline.
I am encouraged by the nostr protocol becuase the common people might actually be able to connect with each other and build things that benefit each other. Our strenth is in remaining calm and trusting only those who are deserving of our trust. Othewise, "a thousand will tremble at the threat of one" and at the treat of five will flee in panic. -Isaiah 15-18
I am not convinced the I an AI is anyting more than a big multi threaded nested algorythm. The magic is no more impressive than the storing data on magnetic tape. Impressive, yes. Intelligent? Sentient? Alive? No.
The term AI is as misused as calling networked computers "the cloud".

The extent of the "Ministry of Truth" is hard to believe, but when you see the proof it should really sink in how far those in power have taken it.
The justification has been "it is for the greater good". Who still believes that? Only the people who believe they are the greater. It will not end well for those.
Congress should pass a law that you can only say words if they are listed in nip 69.
There is a separating taking place. People would be advised to seek truth, seek meekness, seek righteousness. Perhaps you will be concealed in the day of wrath. -Zep 2:1-3
Refreshing. Nostr is giving me back my interest in development that has been stomped by big tech.
Nostr feels like things were in 1999 and 2000. Back before google turned evil.
Eisenhower warned that "Public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific, technological elite."
It would seem everyone has been building a tower of babel for the last 100 years whether they know it or not.
Forgot to mention: The concept of trust not being the same thing as follow is a big deal. Something I have been advocating for months, but not knowing you have been implementing this. Sure like to hear from some of the Devs about your concepts.
GM-PV Nostroles,
I hope you have been enjoying the Nostr videos I've created. They've been a ton of fun to make. You can find them all here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB2PP9uiaifzD0ULVx03AkFK8S-2P-q4y
I'm taking a break from videos today because I need to pay bills and silly nonsense like that. I've also got some work to do on more-speech.
But, never fear, I've got more videos to make, all describing the various facets of this lovely thing that we call Nostr.
Hi Bob, Just watched the 'using moore-speech' video. Outstanding work! I will definately install this soon. Your implimentation of opaque control and view of relays has my interest in a big way, along with encryption of private messages.
I noticed the first comment on youtube says that you have lost 90% of people's interest due to the app not having "ease of use". I would say that's a feature not a bug. Great work on an app for adults having an attention span.
