Without a lot of critical thought, the fact that fiatjaf is using telegram (or signal?) for direct messaging, would be a pretty good indicator that nostr is not private. But sure, onboard more twitter users, let's see what they say when they think nobody can see it, should be informative.

I'm not sure how it works on x twitter, but this link I could see. It is almost as if xtwitter is allowing certain things that they want you to see to be viewable.

Great advise. Another good book to start with is Ecclesiastes. When I first read the bible it was because someone gave me a pamphlet of the book of John, it resonated with me at 17 years old, and I have had faith in God ever since.

Interesting post, but linking to a site where you have to create an account or sign in with google/facebook or apple is a non starter for me (and hopefully most people on nostr) No more acquiescence in agreeing to the terms and conditions of big tech and the ruling elite.
At least use a private platform of some sort. I want to see a nostr client replacement for forums like phpBB, vBulletin and XenForo. They are coming, I can feel it in the works. 😁 For the immediate need, starting a relay with a narrow focus is easy and starting to happen. Take private discussions to simpleX ! Big tech's days are numbered !

What is needed is a way to extend LN Payments in the wild the way relays extend notes. If everything is custodial, it may as well be on a mastercard or visa.
Actually it goes to what ODELL just said about the blue checks on twitter: The path Elon is taking leads to every person on twitter being verified and completely captured by one powerful person... and almost nobody cares. I think the concept of a craigslist for nostr is the way to do what you are asking. Simply post something for sale and people can buy it.
Would be no different than someone buying a music CD in a store. They could rip it and then post the songs on nostr. Then you could send take down notices to all the relays.
This is the path nostr will see eventually. People will misuse it and other people will try to take it down.
