I agree. Yet here we are. Matt 23:10-12
Because there are divisions among the leadership of the churches. The chart in this thread shows an undivided church for more than a thousand years. That is not true. Far from it.
pasted from another thread: ...
The church has always been divided. Paul wrote to the Corinthians about divisions, that people were saying I belong to Cephus, or I to Paul, or I to Appolos, or I to Christ, saying Christ exists divided. -
1 Corinthians 1:12
Trying to make sense of twisted doctrine and tradition will only serve to confuse. I think that is why Paul said:
"...and so I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come with an extravagance of speech or of wisdom declaring the sacred secret of God to you. For I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and him impaled. - 1 Corinthians 2:2-3
The bible is the preserved word of God. It's not a bunch of stories as some assert. It is full of prophesy for the future, not just historical record of the past. It contains the answers you seek. It is true and is no lie, and for those truly seeking, it is the annointing from God that is teaching you. - John 2:26-27
However, the truth found in the bible is examined spiritually:
"...physical men don’t recognize the Spirit of The God, because these are just foolishness to them and they can’t understand them, since such things can only be understood spiritually." 1 Corinthians 2:14
Keep on seeking friends.
“...ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" - Luke 11:9
I hope there are more than 5, but I am 2.
I feel the need to say it again: innovation is needed.
This matrix is the best I have found. https://nostorg.github.io/clients/ There is a column for long form content (nip 23)
As I mentioned, I'm currently listening to the New Living Translation version. The original post by nostr:nprofile1qqszv8t246xav960spr4c32agmut8szdjwywsrrluxd3z89e0smr55gprpmhxue69uhhqun9d45h2mfwwpexjmtpdshxuet5q9z8wue69uhk76ncxf5k7cendsehzvnxdp5n2drewf5x7mnedphx76mtd4kxuem3wd5ryctdw9cxz6rsvyekkmnjw9hkxmf4wfskgtn0de5k7m30qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcvs0w8g mentions that Alexander Scourby also recorded a reading of the Revised Standard Version. I listened to the English Standard Version of the Bible last year. Christian actor Max McLean did a recording of the New International Version (NIV), which I've also listened to, and it is good. Just about all of the newer Bible translations also have audio formats because they are under copyright and it gives the publishers something else they can sell.
Thanks. I have not tried to find audio books in a long time, and there is a lot more available than I thought.
Agree. And paul goes on to say "I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty." - Galatians 5:10
New programmers using ai may not be a bad thing. The bad thing is the agendas that the ai's are programmed to have. New programmers will be pushing these agenda, without even knowing it. Much the way everyone uses fremaeworks and dependencies that they have never reviewed and cannot be sure what they are actually doing.
That is an interesting thought. However reasoning on this, I think that pharaoh's decisions put him in a bad place, in that becuase he feared the hebrews were getting to be more numerous than egyptions, and he subjected them to severe slavery to keep them in check.
It occurs to me that we have the free will to accept the spirit of God, in order for it to flow through us. If we reject his kindness, will he not reject us. Letting our hearts become hardened? consider that "...you people are God's temple...if anyone destorys the temple of God, God will destroy him..." - 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Appreciate the dialog anchorite
A healthy sentiment dk. and you will be trending on primal with gm in there. 😆
Things would have gone differently if only Adam would have responded to God as David did. But Adam made excuses for his sin, blaming the woman who God had given him. - Genesis 3:12
Even Christ said "...not my will, but yours..." Luke 22:42
Man was not made to be destroyed. But there is free will. I choose God's will over Satans, and certainly over man's tradition and worldly wisdom.
> “The queen of heaven was the Assyrian-Babylonian goddess Ishtar, parallel to the Canaanite goddess Astarte. Both were astral deities (perhaps Venus) linked with love, fertility, and warfare.”

nice way to say this Marakesh
Are there any later translations available on audio that you are aware of?
For Desktop, OpenSuse Leap. I like it for stability and security. Though I have some concerns about systemd. (that ship sailed) For servers, mostly debian and ubuntu: because of the amount of time I have spent customizing deployments and hardening.
How many people here are using KVM/qemu? I have at this point completely moved away from vmware. I have found qemu is much better for everything I do.
Innovation is needed. A tutorial for the current crop of tools would require 10 hours of instuction, only 20% of the class would pass, and half of those would still get rugged.
there are many called but few are chosen. Matt 22:14
Angels have had many duties, and will be delivering a smashing at the end of the age. Those chosen will be sealed and will suffer, even to death, but will be taken up before the destruction ends. Rev 7:2-3 Rev 2:10
One goal of the nostr community should be to normalize the use of VLANs and cheap & open routing hardware. Almost everything connected to the internet is phoning home all the time.
Working on FOSS surely feels like traveling over an endless sea, with a sinking ship made out of thin cartboard, just with a single spoon, during a monsoon...
So Codeberg just decided to interpret a stupid, annoying, two-worded spam attack as a far-right attack against their far-left values and Codeberg takes this as a chance to promote a "fight against right-wing forces" (words cited from their blog post https://archive.ph/bvBt0 )
I thought by hosting my projects on Codeberg instead of Github I would support independence and free-speech. But since Codeberg now clearly shows that they are against free-speech, I need to adapt. My projects (especially Nitropage) primary goal is about free-speech and I don't wanna risk Codeberg activists shutting up my repositories, because of right-wing political content published with Nitropage.
Let me know if you know any good, halfway active, non-corporate, unpolitical places to host GIT projects 😅. Maybe https://radicle.xyz ? 🤔)
(I know self-hosting also exists. I'd actually have a Gitea instance, but basically all people are too lazy to register on it and I get absolute-zero interaction on that thing, apart from spam bots 🙄)

It's pretty clear the bias they have at Codeberg. They want to "keep kids safe" from the far right. No mention of the far left. We should thank them for making it so clear where they stand.
I think we should teach children to think critically, and let them figure things out for themselves rather than censor ban and hide anything the echo chamber does not like. Nostr is very encouraging.
Sounds like neighbor became close friend. When Christ was asked, 'who really is my neighbor' he told a parable about a samaratin helping a stranger on the road.
