Yes, Iāve had the same experience. I work in a male dominated technical field, though, and in the last 12 months Iāve orange pulled 3 co-workers. I also went to a nostr meetup and hung out, and met another nostrich while traveling.

Since discovering bitcoin I am a completely different person. I know that I will never again be the same. And in a way, thatās good but it is also bad. I will always be different from 99% of people I interact with on a daily basis.
In my daily life I can kind of avoid politics. But recently I disagreed with someone I care about. We argued about politics. I understand how purposefully divisive politics are, and she does not. I remain an open mind because I understand how peopleās viewpoints can differ based on what they were exposed to. Not everyone feels the same though.
Itās almost impossible to describe my world view to someone who does not see what Iāve seen. I just feel lonely knowing that the people around me just donāt get it. In a way my life has become harder. Living in a big city, most people are strongly liberal.
I love nostr for this reason, a little escape from the worldās programming into our community. But it doesnāt compare to meat space.
Iāll be alright. Just feelin a lil sad and lonely. Iād rather be open and honest in my daily life than not. Even if it brings me problems, Iād rather live a life of truth. This pain is a small price to pay for the advantages that bitcoin brings and the massive benefit it has had on my life.
