I know nothing about it, but I assumed it was for boosting transactions that can't be RBFed, so they have to pay the miners outside of the block to include an accelerated transaction which wouldn't be included normally. I didn't think mempool can alter the actual fee on the transaction that goes into the Blockchain.

If you paid for digital media a la carte that your access to was later removed then I would support pirating it. Just because that has happened in the past does not justify pirating everything you want in perpetuity. There is also no expectation of ownership when subscribing to streaming services.

Torrenting is also a big "fuck you" to everyone involved in creating the shows. I'd rather pay and support the creation of more content than make up half assed justifications for theft. If I though these companies were really so evil I would stop watching their content altogether.
