Promoting Bitcoin mainly in Switzerland. Waiting for Strike like the rest of πŸ‡¨πŸ‡

Innovation for proper onchain/lightning wallets is really suffering right now.

How can Blue still be the best after almost a decade?

Interesting. This is what happens when you leave nostr for a little while and then come back. 🀣

Does nostr:nprofile1qqs9es53d8cfal0u3nmrudzcc6fcl8vadzhs94lnn462dzptfrt7meqpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqzrthwden5te0dehhxtnvdakq9gl37z no longer exist? I’m using it on macOS but I’m sure I had it installed on iOS as well. πŸ€”

Another problem with websummit is that all shitcoin and bitcoin companies are thrown into the conference's Web3 bucket, so this is a really bad start for 70k people to understand the fundamental difference between bitcoin and shitcoinery.

Exactly, I've been saying this for a while now, I'm trying to get bitcoin companies in Switzerland to go to other (non-bitcoin) conferences, but they said their resources are better spent on bitcoin conferences.

I have an idea where maybe Bitcoin Association Switzerland (BAS) could pay for 10 stands at websummit for a few days (2k each per day) and we bring 10 companies from Switzerland financed by the association.

BAS has some nice bitcoin reserves πŸ™‚

Maybe you could somehow link a new nsec/npub to a your old one up to a specific date to preserve legitimate history.

I guess we can still "hard fork" nsec/npub specs πŸ™‚

The problem is knowing that you cannot move forward with a particular nsec because you know that nsec is compromised. All activity after the compromise-event will be some bad actor abusing your identity.

I suppose you could post a note saying something like, "all posts from this note are compromised, ignore this npub, and start following this npub".

In the future, losing an nsec could be worse than losing the keys to your bitcoin.

When losing the keys to your bitcoin, you only lose the bitcoin associated with those keys, when losing your sec, you could end up losing your whole identity and all of its history.

Has anybody thought about this?

Since OP_RETURN is a policy rule and not a consensus rule, it’s possible even before v30 to ignore the 80-byte limit and broadcast an out of band transaction. If we only use miners who accept out of band transactions then we’re essentially centralizing mining, we can circumvent a centralizing force by removing the 80-byte limit.

There’s always been lots of non-financial data in bitcoin.

Inscription fans will still probably use the old way for creating inscriptions in bitcoin because it’s cheaper.

I personally wouldn’t use knots at all. It’s not battle hardened and well tested like Core.

The crowd were not expecting you!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Thanks for the sats. πŸ™πŸ½

The problem is that he CAN. Permissioned systems will always allow this.

#Bluesky getting a big push at #Websummit. πŸ™„

More food pics to accompany the post, always end on a happy note. πŸ˜ƒ Fantastic steakhouse in Lisbon next to Time Out Market. ❀️

It seems that there are no #bitcoin companies at the Websummit in Lisbon this year, but there seems to be plenty of #web3 and #crypto companies.

This is going to be painful.

Looking on the bright side, the food is great! πŸ€€πŸ˜‹
