Innovation for proper onchain/lightning wallets is really suffering right now.
How can Blue still be the best after almost a decade?
Why did you not open the pod bay door nostr:npub1pm5z0gmw3wcvl3yreuv8y7q3stz2zmzc4jar4ckhk927qdcwjwuq3txe07?
Interesting. This is what happens when you leave nostr for a little while and then come back. π€£

Another problem with websummit is that all shitcoin and bitcoin companies are thrown into the conference's Web3 bucket, so this is a really bad start for 70k people to understand the fundamental difference between bitcoin and shitcoinery.
Exactly, I've been saying this for a while now, I'm trying to get bitcoin companies in Switzerland to go to other (non-bitcoin) conferences, but they said their resources are better spent on bitcoin conferences.
I have an idea where maybe Bitcoin Association Switzerland (BAS) could pay for 10 stands at websummit for a few days (2k each per day) and we bring 10 companies from Switzerland financed by the association.
BAS has some nice bitcoin reserves π
Maybe you could somehow link a new nsec/npub to a your old one up to a specific date to preserve legitimate history.
I guess we can still "hard fork" nsec/npub specs π
The problem is knowing that you cannot move forward with a particular nsec because you know that nsec is compromised. All activity after the compromise-event will be some bad actor abusing your identity.
I suppose you could post a note saying something like, "all posts from this note are compromised, ignore this npub, and start following this npub".
In the future, losing an nsec could be worse than losing the keys to your bitcoin.
When losing the keys to your bitcoin, you only lose the bitcoin associated with those keys, when losing your sec, you could end up losing your whole identity and all of its history.
Has anybody thought about this?
Since OP_RETURN is a policy rule and not a consensus rule, itβs possible even before v30 to ignore the 80-byte limit and broadcast an out of band transaction. If we only use miners who accept out of band transactions then weβre essentially centralizing mining, we can circumvent a centralizing force by removing the 80-byte limit.
Thereβs always been lots of non-financial data in bitcoin.
Inscription fans will still probably use the old way for creating inscriptions in bitcoin because itβs cheaper.
I personally wouldnβt use knots at all. Itβs not battle hardened and well tested like Core.

I'm getting ready to launch a new short form video nostr app. I'm quite excited about it but am not ready to announce it to the world. The plan is to do it when I'm on stage at WebSummit in Lisbon in just over a week with nostr:nprofile1qqsg509dzgxfwv5rhy2rzp5c6vqapx4rmxg74kldncn00uvz86r8swqwpwjky where we're going to be talking to the editor of Fast Company about Nostr.
I'm super excited about this new app. It's been my primary project for the last couple of months. Can you please help me beta test it, quietly, without posting publicly about it anywhere.
DM me and i'll send you the links for testflight / google play open testing.
In order to make this new app work i've made two proposed changes to the spec, one updating NIP-71 to formalize support for editing video meta data, as already supported in Amethyst: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/2072
And for a new way to sign video content to verify authenticity called ProofMode - https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/2109
Iβm at Websummit and would love to attend your session. Which day and what time please. Thanks and good luck!
It seems that there are no #bitcoin companies at the Websummit in Lisbon this year, but there seems to be plenty of #web3 and #crypto companies.
This is going to be painful.
Looking on the bright side, the food is great! π€€π
