I find Traveling by train (no matter what class) provides so much more of an adventure then flying.
Hmm…Clever idea, but sad that that’s the direction we’re having to consider heading in. I head a sixth finger as a kid, it was spy toy and had a pen in it.
I view wellness as being more than a choice, it ought to be viewed as a responsibility. It starts with simple steps, first by understanding that a product labeled as being “Natural” means absolutely nothing (except marketing) and “Organic” is even suspect. Organic beef can come from a cow raised raised primarily on organic grains. The rub is that a cow is meant to eat grass not grains, it’s like raising a human primarily on organic snicker candy bars, both scenarios lead to unhealthy outcomes. The dilemma comes from our being so removed from where our food comes from, unless we participate in growing/raising it ourselves or personally know the integrity of the person growing/raising it.
Yes it is! I was an amateur sailor in college and volunteered to crew a 50’ vintage sailing vessel to take out a group of at-risk-teenagers for a over-nighter. The seas became pretty rough and it was a hard night however the captain was an amazing sailor. Didn’t puke but nearly froze to death, thank god for rum fortified coffee to get me through the night. Not sure what the teens took away from the whole ordeal. Probably to behave better so that they wouldn’t be sent on such an adventure again. From the warmth of my home I can now reflect back more positively on the memory ;-)
….yet another in the series of weird-ass bugs of Costa Rica. I’m guessing these are some sort of caterpillar. However, I’ve never seen this rather bizarre/interesting behavior in a caterpillar before. They are sensing the one in front of them in order to maintain their ability to follow each other in single file, perhaps to look larger or to lessen (slightly) the chance of being picked off by a bird. Although their bright yellow coloration doesn’t seem to be all that helpful in that regard. Any ideas on what these might be the larval state of? Pura Vida

As Alpha Genesis can be contracted to do in house research for clients. It would be important to know whether these monkeys are involved in any particular research project that may have consequences to the public if they are out and about.

This latest Costa Rican weird-ass bug of the week. Size of a thumbnail. I think it’s a caterpillar but didn’t want to mess with it too much as it seemed fragile. Looks similar to a feathery nudabranc (sea slug) that one might see scuba diving in tropical oceans. Any informed ideas? Pura Vida
Ya, but the problem is solar panels and anything electronic will also be fried. The last time a major occurrence like this happened was in 1859 and only the telegraph was available to get fried…..but things are a bit different now.
However, eventually we are due to be hit by a major em pulse from the sun that is expected to fry the grid on a global scale and we really don’t have a backup plan so essentially we’ll all be as good as broke.

My use of Fold and Lolli have lessened quite a bit and will likely stop my premium fold subscription shortly. Gift cards were useful but out of the US mostly these days so don’t use gift cards much anymore. But certainly had a good run early on! Yearly avg sats on Fold is down to a third of what they use to be. Will look into switching to Gemini.
