Knowing how many zaps someone has received could hurt content creators. For example, content creator gets 15k worth of zaps and an individual reads their content and likes it and is about to zap them and sees that they have already got a lot so doesn’t.

Further upcoming #zap improvements:

1. Listing all zaps received in the side menu, sort by received or amount

2. Long-press zap to bring up a dialog with amount customization, comments, etc.

3. Clean up notification feed to show “people are zapping your post, etc” and then show a summary instead of individual zaps

4. Zap privacy settings. Anonymous zaps, identified but private zaps, etc

Now we gotta yell at wallet devs to implement NIP-57 😂

Last night I spoke with a woman who had been trading FOREX at a bank for the past 20 years.

She was clearly smart and asked me about my bitcoin tattoo.

Her phrasing was honestly not far from “how your trade going?”

She really didn’t know how to react when I told her I don’t trade bitcoin; that I just store my wealth in it and dedicate my life to using it and helping others use it as a tool for freedom.

After speaking for like 20 minutes she still didn’t understand it. Some people are so far down the fiat cave of doom they can’t understand a life without it.

Damus will do this eventually. First via remote control of wallet nodes and eventually a breez-style non custodial wallet but this is much further down the line. Zapping on damus is pretty frictionless atm but could be better.

Would Taproot have passed consensus if this exploit was discovered before the soft fork?

Taproot was a huge mistake. The functionality that was gained by the soft fork doesn't offset this "unforeseen" exploit caused by Taproot. And unfortunately a lot of people in this space can't come to terms they messed up, royally, by pushing Taproot though.

I bought my first crypto currency in 2017 (XMR) along with BTC and some others. My background is music, building/architecture and business development, so little experience with computers and coding etc.

Absolutely, at least when using MyNode. I currently don’t do anything w/ my lightning node, running via MyNode, but all of my on-chain transactions go through my personal node.

BlueWallet is not as fast as the Trezor Suite, but I find it very usable. I run Orbot on my phone which routes my traffic through Tor. This works well for accessing my node remotely via Safari, or using BlueWallet in general.
