Eat Whole, Live Whole! π±
Processed foods can lead to quick digestion and sugar spikes, leaving you feeling hungry soon after eating.
Their refined carbs are rapidly broken down, causing a surge in blood sugar followed by a crash. This cycle can lead to overeating and cravings.
In contrast, whole foods rich in fiber and nutrients promote stable energy levels and lasting fullness.
Choose wisely for better health! π½οΈβ¨

What would make healthy eating easier?
> If you know what things you shall add and remove from your diet.
Would it be possible to make a nutrition tracking and gut health app useful without really having accurate nutrition values?
> I would say yes.
> If you only know that person A eats food
..... that reaches the daily suggested vitamin intake roundabout 80%,
..... but minerals only 20%,
..... baaam, you have a valueable feedback.
And for this, it does not even matter if total vitamin intake is 65-70-85%, if something else is below 30% e.g
Also the question can be simplified to knowing what nutrition rich foods a person eats. If he lacks omega fatty acids, then baaam, useful feedback.
What do you think?

Food supplements suppose to be supplements.
Not replacing a healthy diet.
Using food supplements as a health solution will:
- lack the synergies of nutrients in whole foods helping absorption and effectiveness
- lack variety of nutrients, only concentrating on certain ones
- lack the fiber and other components that contribute to digestive health
- do not provide the same chronic disease prevention effects
- some vitamins and minerals can be toxic in high doses, particularly fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K
- relying solely on supplements can create imbalances
Also as a general rule of thumb, there is no free lunch.
You cannot get healthy from a few tablets a day. You may can drop weight, but it will be temporary, and if you do not change, it will come back.

Oxidative stress refers to an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the body's ability to detoxify these harmful compounds or repair the resulting damage. This condition can lead to cellular damage and is associated with various diseases and aging.

That is great! I am looking for some interesting discussions with you in the future. This field really can grab you, so much things to learn.
How to heal yourself? How to solve your health issues instead of only handling the symptoms?
There was a video about a Neurosurgent, who quit, because he realized he cannot solve the real issues of his patients he can only handle the symtpoms.
One interesting point to take from him is, that he observed that many of his patients did not achieve lasting improvements from surgeries, leading him to question the effectiveness of his work.
He noted that those who adopted healthier lifestyles tended to recover better than those who underwent surgical procedures.
He found the following general charactetistics in people who healed, and the opposite in those who did not:
- Diet is the most important.
- Low salt diet.
- Mostly plant-based diet. (Low animal food consumption)
- Doing things that make you sweat. (Excercise, hiking, sauna, living in a warm place)
- Didnt smoke.
- Didnt drink much.
- Good social support. (Loved ones, family, friends, children...)
- Sleep 8 hours every day.
- Werent stressed out, or found ways to release stress back to the universe.

Good morning!
π Clogged drain is in cleaning!
Fiat job to start, probably I can progress in the evening on the gut health app.
Lets get this week going! π₯
Gut Health Tracking App
> I want the app to just work.
This means, that you shall be able to:
- input your consumption easily
- add new foods easily (with all nutrients)
- know what nutrient is missing easily
The power of three.
β Adding consumption shall be fine for now.
β Knowing missing nutrients shall be also fine for now.
π Add new foods easily is in progress.
The main difficulty is, how to add foods easily WITH nutrients. Packaging mostly contain macro information. If we only store that, app is not that useful.
So the idea is twofold:
- Users can search foods in an external database, if wanting to add a vegetable e.g., where they are not aware of any values.
- Users can add foods with macro table, and the app tries to impute the data with similar data from databases. Without forcing to impute with bad data.
Extra:
Each food can have ingredients, and the values of the food will be taken from the sum of its ingredients. (As future feature)

Outside. Coffee in hand. Relaxing. Taking in the sun. The calmness. Making the UI better.
Great part of the day.
I think one of the hardest things during shopping is, that you want to buy something, and you see similar products, but different prices.
You dont have any quantitative way to compare e.g. milk or egg. You just see the macros, and thats it. Or not even that.
If possible, I will put something in the app, that helps you quantitavely compare products. Or at least give ideas about the difference.
Of course, if that specific product was not analysed, I can ONLY use estimated data! But at least that might give a competitive edge.

Good morning!
#DevLog
I am working on a health tracker app.
Main goal:
Making eating healthy easy. It just works, and you can learn along the way.
Key concepts:
- Privacy: Private data is encrypted on user device.
- Transparency: Information on suggestions, and why nutrients are tracked.
- Freedom: You can take your data and leave. (nostr)
- Open-source: The app is open-source.
Features:
- Tracks many nutrients (minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, etc)
- Tracks nutrients for gut health
- Suggests foods
- Eating healthy as a social game and connection point
A lot to do still!
So lets go! π₯
