#Meshtastic Tip
OTA firmware upgrades via Bluetooth are a useful way to update RAK4631 nodes that are in difficult to access locations. They donβt work well from iOS devices however as I discovered the hard way.. The firmware update failed and left the node in DFU mode needing to be connected via USB to update. Apparently this is a common issue trying to update using iOS. I havenβt tested an OTA update using Android yet but I have heard from others that it works well.

Android OTA is still broken sadly. Even when using the older (recommended) version of nRF Connect
Happy Halloween nostr!
In honor of spooky season, I humbly request your favorite scary stories and memes. Thank you!
We need another Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.
Turning on/off a VPN also causes this issue
Miniflux is great. I currently use it to forward my feeds to matrix, but I could totally see a better experience pushing to nostr instead.
Of you alias sudo to please... Sometimes.
π¨ Zapraiser Alert! π¨
We're teaming up with NYC's famous nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h for a special crowdfund to create a signed first edition of NOICE Magazine, and here's your chance to be a part of it!
For any zap of $1 or more (about 1450 sats), we'll write your #Nostr nym into the cover of this unique edition, which will be proudly displayed at Pubkey!
nostr:npub1aeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qcq4nwx has already zapped 7200 sats towards our goal of 36,400 sats. Letβs keep it rolling!
β³ Timeβs limited, this opportunity ends by the end of the day!
#Zap now to secure your spot in NOICE history. Any extra sats we raise will go directly to supporting Nostr developers. Letβs go fam, share this around!!

This is awesome.
Too many libertarians and not enough anarchists on nostr.
Might also want to watch disk utilization. You might be having iowait throttle the rest of the system
ARISS SSTV image I was able to get part of this morning. Damn hard to get a full and clear signal/recording. I use websdr.org to follow the #ISS around the planet and record the signal where I can. It's a fun challenge and you can get a digital reward for decoding even a partial image at https://ariss.pzk.org.pl/sstv/
#hamradio #spacestation #sdr
Next step is to build a tape measure yagi and track the ISS when its near you. A very easy, cheap, and rewarding step into ham!
This is what I am most interested in. A simple CMS Site Displaying from a list of npubs. Something like nocomment: https://github.com/fiatjaf/nocomment
This looks great. Along with a static site rendering long form content this is essentially a full fledged blogging engine.
Check out https://nsite.lol
nostr:npub1klr0dy2ul2dx9llk58czvpx73rprcmrvd5dc7ck8esg8f8es06qs427gxc nostr:npub1elta7cneng3w8p9y4dw633qzdjr4kyvaparuyuttyrx6e8xp7xnq32cume and I are working on static websites on nostr
This is pretty cool but what I'm envisioning is a replacement to Hugo/ghost/etc where you out of band write longform content (as markdown), publish it to your relays, and have a static site just pull every kind 8 from a set of npubs and display them. The hope is to not have to run a server at all (other than your own relay if you want)
I have also been looking for something like this. Kind of the reverse of pluja/blogo which backs up a static site to nostr, and instead something that just reads kind 8s from a relay and displays them.
Just remember a high gain antenna will change the propagation shape!
You'll have to find someone who has a websdr set up locally there.
People should start using lightningnetwork.plus
NTFY has been great and I think the community as a whole should adopt it more heavily
