Yeah I was looking into Nicks but lying $600 for a pair of boots was hard to swallow, so my buddy just happened to find this brand (he’s also kind of a boot nerd) and they do two options, these which are handmade in Mexico or the option handmade in Oregon (also like $600). I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve seen a lot of nice handmade boots come out of Mexico so I was good with that lol
I was that $60 dude, starting blowing ‘em out within a couple months. Paid $370 for these and have been wearing them everyday for the last couple months, so far not one single regret. Even using leather laces. Customer service was amazing, had to email them about what size I should order because their last is a little different.

I bought a pair of thorogoods a couple months back, blew out the mock toe by dropping a railroad tie on it, so I then ordered a pair of Drew’s all leather loggers and Ann so glad I did. They’ve been amazing. I’m planning to send the thorogoods to Wyatt & Dad and have the toe patched so I have backups/shitkickers
I don’t think those can generally be resoled. There’s no welt visible, probably a direct attach.
Dude, get you one of these next time you got a deck project, literally the easiest way I’ve ever ripped up a deckboard.

Shit, I have the 24v Kobalt hedge trimmer too, now that thing rocks my socks off. I can cut through 1/2” limbs if I let it eat for a minute. I don’t do many hedges anymore so I totally forgot about it lol
Oh I didn’t say I was taking it off on my taxes…these all make me my side hustle money if you get my drift lol
Indeed. I seriously want to go back to like a 1970’s 7.3 IDI. My 96 pathfinder is pretty damn reliable but some of it is pretty wonky, like blowing the fuse for the reverse light also disconnecting the neutral safety switch so the whole vehicle won’t even crank lol
Would there not be some lost incentives? How would they sell a new game if there was infinite replayability
That’s pretty much where I am now also. I’ve got all the basics and then some covered, and I’m looking at the more specialty tools so I don’t have as much headache trying to accomplish something. It’s just always a struggle to decide what’s worth it and what ain’t, and also if it’s gonna be one of those tools you end up using all the time, like an oscillating multi tool lol
I’ve got the Kobalt 24v handheld blower and 12” chainsaw. Chainsaw is great for Limbing or sawing up a quick fallen limb, but when I got tree felling to do I break out my echo CS-590. I’m still running my trusty echo weedeater too, but I also have a few yards I mow for other people. In fact I have one that I mow just a couple times a year and it takes literally 8 hours to mow and weedeat
So far it’s proven to be. It’s also solar so I’ve not had to replace battery yet. It’s been under water, soaked in oil, covered in paint, showered with sparks, I’m sure it’s gotten all kinds of glue and solvents on it, in fact I know it’s been soaked with gasoline at least a few times lol
I’m also making money with my tools, so I have a little more reason to spend a few bucks on a tool. But I have so many because not everybody offers every tool, or it’s something I don’t expect to use often so I’ll save a few bucks and get the cheaper brand. I have Kobalt 24 and 40 volt, Bauer 20, skil 12, Milwaukee m18 and m12…I’m either forgetting one or I’ve only got 6 platforms lol
G-Shock Rangman, been on my wrist nearly everyday for like 4 years now. I’ve got a mud master too but I use it as one of my nice watches, and it needs a battery. I am looking at swapping to a leather strap for the rangeman because the resin is starting to give out, and I find myself looking for excuses to go back to leather.
That’s always a part of the equation too lol
I have like 8 different battery platforms lol most of my stuff is Kobalt, but they don’t have a 1/2” right angle drill. I do have times where I’m in a tight spot trying to drill a hole and struggling but it’s not exceedingly often.
Alright #Toolstr, I know I’m not the only one having this issue. How often you find yourself wanting a tool that you’re not sure you’d ever use thereby struggling to justify the money? Harbor freight is running some sales on Bauer and Hercules cordless stuff (I already have some
Bauer). I’m really tempted by the right angle 1/2 drill from Hercules, currently I could get it, 2 8ah batts and their dual port charger for less than $300, but I don’t know that I’ll use it enough to justify that expense. Thoughts?

Oof, I’m 33 with a 9mo and the second on the way, so they’ll be 8 and 7 when I hit 40. Gonna be a wild time lol
