My dad grew up growing tobacco, mostly burley if I remember correct. Pretty sure my family had been doing it for at least 3 generations. Then govt got involved and started paying my grandfather to not grow it. I never grew it myself, but I been wanting to get me a little patch just to play with, mostly, and to see how it does in a permaculture mindset.
Tobacco in general is great for bee and wasp stings. My dad chewed red man and as a kid I knew to run to him when I got stung, and as an adult I started keeping it in my vehicle for the same reasons, even before I started chewing. I know loose leaf, dip, and cigarette tobacco work just fine. I’d assume cigar would work though pretty expensive lol and also pipe tobacco. I haven’t tried snuff or snus so not sure if their processes takes away that ability but I’d doubt it quite honestly.
I’d agree. Or when we post something and forget the picture, or the hashtags. By the way, I totally just forgot the second “h” in “hashtags”, but luckily autocorrect caught it lol
Nature doesn’t care what you think. It doesn’t care if you don’t want something to grow in this spot. Something will grow. It may take a while, but something will grow. Our existence is the blink of an eye compared to nature’s timeline. We can either fight against that timeline, or learn to work within that timeline. One costs us untold hours to maintain a thing, one costs us far less time, and for us, time is very scarce and very precious.
Don’t get me wrong, I like pretty landscaping and hard scapes as much as the next person, and if done correctly they can be maintained fairly easily, but you better figure in that time when you go to lay it out, and you better plan to fill the niches of plants in that space or expect nature to do it for you, cause nature will. Work with nature, or you’ll get nowhere.
Just my random thoughts as I rolled in to work this morning at the storage space and see this neglected parking lot being broken.

Indeed it is. It’s how everything goes. I’m honestly truly surprised when I find a company putting out truly solid product and able to stay in business, IE nicks boots, Drew’s boots, Occidental leather…
I was too. It’s sizeflation. All the plywood now is 1/32 less than it should be because they’re trying to maintain their margins with a money that constantly getting devalued. What was once 1/2 is now 15/32, 1/4 is now 7/32, etc etc. if they’re making 15/32 sheets then they can get 16 sheets for the same material that would only give them 15 sheets if they made 1/2”
Fiat mindsets bro.
Back during the Covid shit you couldn’t find any ply or OSB for less than $30 a sheet. Treated 5/4 decking was like $30 for a 12 footer. It was wild.
Currently, 15/32” ply (closest we can get to 1/2” anymore) is about $22 a sheet
Ah the crushing, makes sense! I gotta cut some lavender, rosemary, basil and sage for hanging sometime this week.
Does freeze drying do anything to make the salve more potent as compared to just hanging and drying?
Well, let’s see if either of these volunteer red maple seedlings will be my new bonsai projects

Thats been my issue with finding a way to employ AI. I don’t do anything repetitive on a computer, I don’t have any bullshit documents to fill out or anything like that…so basically all I’ve managed to use gpt4all for so far has been asking it random questions instead of going to presearch. It does work quite nicely for that though lol
Man, he is even less of a techie than I am. It took me forever to get his ass on signal lol. I have been extolling the virtues of nostr to him though, I showed him the sats that pic of his bald head got the other day and while he was confused it made him a little curious.
Does anybody have a Carolina Allspice they’d be willing to make a few cuttings from or suckers? I’d love to have one of the burgundy flowering varieties, I believe it’s called Aphrodite. I’d be willing to trade (I have chocolate mint, orange mint, and rosemary cuttings currently) or buy it, whichever works.

Naw he’s done become a dodge guy, that’s bout the only thing wrong with him lol
I think it’s following me, it’s never there when I’m at my day job and I check my camera feed….
Pots have lavender, basil, marigold, sage, cayenne pepper, strawberry, potatoes, 5 varieties of okra (planted from seed and not doing too well), chocolate mint, orange mint and pintoes I believe. Pic of the tiny greenhouse with all the cuttings I’ve made. Rosemary in a storage tub, which I need to make more cuttings from. Comfrey I put in the ground cause they don’t do well in pots, and then the “natural area” I planted it in that has all kinds of interesting volunteers coming up such as tall blue lettuce, hawkweed, and Virginia creeper.

Forgot the hashtags on the last one lol

If you have uploaded any images or videos through nostr.build, send him some sats! Data ain’t cheap. nostr:note1rvgsnsnmnkw3ufr5sxym6jpcdkzk6lxdzahqef7u5lqdwc09rhwqxntkvf
Then I think you’re making the correct choice by moving it out from under the tree. I’d still consider some kind of canopy or something though, it would only help keep the pool clean and shade is always nice
