My entire life revolves around nostr and bitcoin

Started to build a new home lab recently, mainly with the intention to be able to run up a good number of virtual routers for learning purposes and experimenting with different technologies.

Currently it has:

- 2 x Cisco UCS C240 M4 servers running Proxmox

- Cisco 2911 router and 2960 switch used to provide management connectivity. The 2911 has a UCS E140S server module also running Proxmox for a couple of management VMs.

- Brocade ICX 7250 switch

- Fortigate 70F firewall

It is all sitting in my garage on an old IKEA coffee table at the moment although I should get a rack to mount it properly.

interesting thing about losing 4 hours of code is that it should only take about 20 minutes to rewrite it again.

most of coding is not about just typing, its figuring out a large puzzle. once you know the solution to the puzzle you can just write down the solution again from memory.

Parman's considerate driving tips...

There's a double turning lane at a traffic light. 12 cars waiting in one of the lanes, 2 in the other!

The 12th car is blocking others behind from getting in to the empty lane, and backing up the traffic going straight. Only the first 4 to 6 cars will make across each turning light change.

Some people just enjoy lining up and being boosted, farken hell.

Don't be like these people; fill up the lanes evenly.

The market doesn't "decide," price controls don't work because the price is a result of voluntary market interaction. It's a thermometer, not the heat itself.

Price controls are analogous to capping the thermometer and letting pressure build up, while claiming that we've controlled the temperature outside.

Saying "the market decides" is like suggesting we are "letting the weather decide the temperature" instead of the weatherman. When the second statement is just nonsense. The weatherman doesn't control the weather, if he is manipulating the thermometer then its just lying about what the real temperature is.

My proposal isn't about "letting the markets decide," because markets are literally the only thing that create prices in the first place. I'm saying we shouldn't have institutions with the express authority to completely monopolize a market and then lie about the price.

Price controls are simply lies, we should just stop lying.
