Ava proposes an interesting model of having a "front-facing web identity" and then a separate private one.
In my own case, I never fully deleted my old Facebook or Twitter accounts, rather just preferring to let them lapse into obscurity (not that they were ever popular). Perhaps, it wouldn't hurt to log into those from time-to-time and publish something short now and again to show I still exist in the mainstream world.
Then, Nostr, SimpleX, and other platforms and protocols can serve as my day-to-day drivers for real expression and interaction.
Thanks for the suggestion, nostr:npub1f6ugxyxkknket3kkdgu4k0fu74vmshawermkj8d06sz6jts9t4kslazcka!
As an educator, I've come to the same conclusion over the years, that we are all counsellors and therapists, whether we have the degrees and authorisations from the State or not.

It is Danylo Movchan who is indeed Ukrainian Catholic I believe though!! I pulled it from here https://www.saatchiart.com/account/artworks/763072
Fascinating. Thanks for the clarification. That makes me wonder if there is some school of iconography there in Ukraine that is promoting this kind of modern, minimalist style.
I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to try creating a list on noStrudel that would allow me to follow certain hashtags.
Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to open the list feature on noStrudel, I continually received the same error message:
"Something went wrong
Missing pubkey"
Any idea why this is happening? I tried the same thing in moStard and received the same error.

Anyone know how to follow hashtags on noStrudel / moStard?

The style of this image looks remarkably similar to the work of the Ukrainian Catholic iconographer Ivanka Demchuk. Any chance that this is her work? I don't think I've seen this particular one before.
I pulled up my FB account for the first time in a long while. When I looked through the 'Memories' section, I noticed that many of the posts that I'd published retained my remarks but were missing whatever content I'd shared.
They're definitely deleting tons of content without any warning.
For those in the fiat mines, take a look at your middle and senior management closely. Does the Peter Principle apply at your company? It has definitely held true at most every place I've ever worked.

We all are in some way or another.
In all seriousness, I saw a bunch of your notes on the Orthodox community and thought nostr:npub1fy9428t2ajhus65fc0uuxl90jdx5lmdq9k4elgutkxaktctlqypswd2hps might find that sort of content interesting.
Off the top of my head, here are a few interesting folks to check out:

What did you switch to?
Welcome to Nostr, UF!
It's wonderful that you're exploring the history of Christianity. I've run into a number of cool folks here on Nostr, who are willing to discuss and share their thoughts on this topic. For example, I've met a fairly conservative Reformed Christian, some traditional Catholics, and even a few Orthodox Christians. I hope you will have a chance to run into some of these same folks and that you'll enjoy your time here on Nostr!
God bless.
After some initial research, I think I've got things almost set up to step away from Alby.
I've set up nsec.app to sign events on my desktop (with mobile to come later), npub.cash setup to capture any zaps and turn them into ecash, and cashu.me as my default ecash wallet.
Now, I just need to figure out how to get back into Yakihonne with nsec.app. I've already used nsec.app to get into #nostrudel so can publish for the moment but would still like access via Yakihonne as well. Yakihonne only seems to want my nsec or a hex, which I can't seem to generate from nsec.app (only a bunker address, which Yakihonne won't accept). If anyone has any ideas, please send help!

Welcome, Anna! Glad to have more people on Nostr that are interested in (mental) health, the inner world, etc.
If you can, try to set up a lightning address so that people can zap you (share Bitcoin tips).
Is that available for download somewhere?
Forgive me for not knowing the proper terminology, but can I set nuts.cash as my default wallet on major clients like nostrudel, Yakihonne, etc.? That way, when I click to zap someone, it just zaps directly instead of me having to go to the nuts.cash domain and messing with invoices?
If so, is there an easy tutorial to show how to add nuts.cash as a wallet on these platforms?
With Alby sunsetting their original wallet in favour of their new Hub option, I woke up wondering if there is any comparable cashu/ecash option that I could use to zap on Nostr. I've only just started reading up on cashu, but surely I can find something that would work on both desktop and mobile (Android)?

Part of it has to do with regulation, but a lot of it has to do with being part of the larger system. A lot of educators and administrators simply know no other way. They were brought up with the 8+ hour school day, each lesson being 45-60 minutes, quizzes every few weeks, workbook exercises, and so on. They merely parrot their own experience for their students, regardless of who is funding it (the government or the parents).
As well, you have to consider the end goal of primary & secondary education in most nations. The schools still direct students, for example, to take college entrance exams and whatnot, so everything is directed towards that final goal. If you're in the US, a lot of private schools still prepare students to do SATs or the like, just as their public school counterparts do. If you're in the UK or other Commonwealth nations, students are prepared for their GCSEs and A-Levels.
Can private schools offer this model to a higher level than government schools? Much of the time, certainly! Looking at class sizes, quality of teaching staff, facilities, and resources, most students are doing far better in private schools than public or government ones. Does that mean the fiat model of education should be our ideal? Definitely not!
