Just noticed today my itch for social media is definitely fading.
Returning to myself as the poison continues to seep out.
Wow, in an extremely rare case of an inflation bug you lost a few bucks in your wallet while gaining superior privacy, faster and cheaper txs. While your real saving is in Bitcoin... Big deal. The risk/reward for losing a few bucks it nothing.
No Bitcoin can't be private. It's a public ledger. Any form of coinjoin is obfuscation not privacy, all data is still completely available to save and parse in the future with new data and techniques. And anything built on L2 loses security garuntees of on chain plus othe trade offs.
You don't seem to understand Monero. The "mixing" part is only one part of it's tech for the sender. It completely hides amounts using ZK proofs (pedersen commitments) and recievers not available on the blockchain at all.
"One of these 16 signers sent $[?] to [?]"
A crypto millionaire was just recently chopped into pieces and you're telling me $5 wrench attacks are rare. It happens often enough:

The "can't be audited" FUD is stupid. You know why? Because exactly 100% of bitcoiners run a node and call it a day. Exactly like Monero. No Bitcoiner is taking advantage of it's transparency/simple math and scrutinizing the whole blockchain to make sure everything is correct.
AND an exploited inflation bug would be catastrophic if it happened to either Bitcoin or Monero. Once it happens it is too late. You can't undo it without hurting users in either case.
Also, there is a node in my house. It cost about usd$200. Without ppl running the now 20k+ nodes there was no uasf to segwit.
I am not running my own currently, but I am building a system that depends on secure private access to a chain client to run lightning nodes, how the system monetise service delivery.
My $1000 budget 2021 model gaming laptop syncs the whole chain in under 6 hours running bitcoin core.
I suggest you update yourself on the state of the competitor's offerings. And yes I was mining Monero a lot last bull market 2017. I studied how cryptonote works.
The dark web will go to lightning within 5 years and Monero will be history.

LN with hidden service hosting is more private than Monero.
No trace of the transactions ever get published. It is impossible to discover what payments happened between channel open and close.
Arguments about inflationary payment instruments is irrelevant. You simply wouldn't stack an asset that decays like food. And no sane society has ever existed where such perishable money was continued to be used once better, durables were available.
Tobacco is money in prison. But money is mostly banned in prisons.
Monero only adds obfuscation. Ring signatures are not encryption. They are not conceptually distant from utxo and coin join. There is no homomorphic encrypted visible utxo sizes.
Lightning on a mixnet, however, is private, without compromising supply auditability.
Can you not disable the top level gestures on the android device? The thing that enables the little line at the bottom and the swipe from left to go back instead of the triangle at the bottom?
I've got pretty used to it. If Amethyst has a tabbed view with a swipe gesture, just remember to start the swipe in the middle, too close to the edge and the back button is triggered.

Hello?
Hello?
Whoâs this?
Whoâs this?
Iâm asking the questions, I called you.
No, I called you, and you sound like the ugliest son of a bitch I ever heard.
You sound like the physical manifestation of some loserâs inner demons!
Well, you sound like some total chodeâs inability to confront the reality of his past actions.
If I ever get your stinky mug in my line of sight I swear to jack off Iâll cock your clock off.
Well Iâm gonna be the bigger man, and hang up first- ugh dammit!
Listen, we donât cotton to freaks round these parts, scram wierdo!
Oh yeah, I donât polycotton to coping tropes, even my own. So why donât you split?
Looks like I already did. Youâre the sad figment of my twisted psycheâs tragic dividend. Youâre the un-me. Iâm the real me! You wanna be? Me?
Kiddo, I was the real me when you were still in my short pants.
Hate to break it to ya, but I wore them first. Me bequeathed thee, the psychopathological hand-you-downs.
So youâre the one who stained them?
Whoever found it, browned it.
Youâd like me to be you, wouldnât me? But itâs too late, you snoze, you lose.
You sleeped, you weeped.
You napple, You get slapple!
You slumber, a cucumber.
You catch up on some Zedâs, you get out of my heads!
You slumber, ham- BURGER I DONâT WANNA TALK BOUT NOTHIN ELSE!
Listen, this psyche is not big enough for two metaphysical seekers.
You couldnât seek your way out of a cardboard bag!
Yeah, I know, cause it would be an egg!
OOH! This guy might be better than me-
Youâre right! I am better than me!
Look buddy, know when you defeated. Accept your defecation.
No thanks, Iâm full, cause I eat pussies like you for breakfast!
Look at you, you look so superficial, you probably judge things by their physical appearance.
Oh yeah? Your momâs so shallow, she probably thinks this quip is about her.
Youâre about as deep as a bowl of soup, and your tongue is about as sharp as a soup spoon!
Hey! Say what you want about me, but lay off the soup.
If you love soup so much, why donât you marry soup?
Because Iâm already married, to justice.
Yeah, only a blind girl would marry you.
I know everything youâre gonna-
Say, and I know everything youâre gonna-
Donât.
Oh yeah? Well when God was passing out insight, you thought he said that when God was passing out holy prophets, you thought he said oily faucets, cause your soul has diarrhoea, of the mouth, faucet!
Are you so dumb, youâd even answer rhetorical questions?
I donât know? Do you?
We can play this game all night.
First of all, itâs daytime! And this is no game.
Checkmate!
Oh! So you admit that youâre checking me out, and you want to mate!
You got a license to sell hot-dogs, Chico man?
No, they wouldnât give it to me, because, when I was filling out the application, my penis was sticking out!
Oh yeah! You only got one peni? Let me see itâŠ
See with your eyes, not with your mouth!
Iâll call your bluff, Iâll see your penis with your mouth, and I raise you, with my hand.
Ante up!
OoOh! Dammit!
Whatâs wrong?
I crapped out, but Iâm tough, I can suck it up. Huoourgh!
Ok! Count of three, we show whatâs under the loincloth! Weiner, take all!
1, 2, 3!
Xavier is one of the most hilarious metacomedies ever written, and the San Andreas game engine does it such perfect justice, especially the mexicans...

Today is a good day to not give any more attention to people who start marketing their shitcoin scam with "bitcoiners wouldn't understand".
BIP 300+301 is even less likely to get into implementation in Core than Covenants.
We don't need yet another way to expose people to counterparty risk.
All shitcoin schemes primary purpose is to open a path to robbery. Everything else is just a way of tricking you into buying into it.
And then, when you lose all your funds, we bitcoiners are also to blame, even though we apparently didn't understand it.
Oh, you gotta love that stuff. You know if you add the certificate to the CA on the system it's running on, and sign the certificate with itself, it gets around that stuff?
Another solution is to use a LetsEncrypt web server SSL cert, generate for the ACME validation and then use it on the socket, then it is signed by a commonly available CA.
gRPC/protobuf is simpler than OpenAPI/Swagger.
What is the implementation language?
Until yet another inflation bug appears.
Bitcoin can be just as private with LN, payjoin and interactive, anonymised coinjoins cryptonote protocol is less private than those things all being used routinely. MuSig2 literally could be used to do RingCT style mixing.
Montero only has this popularity on the darkweb because it automates that payment mixing.
So few arrests anyhow from chain analysis, which suggests even bitcoin is mostly secure against the $5 wrench attack.
Probably because all darkweb bitcoin transactions are using Tor. Tor alone stops geolocating spending keys...
Montero can't do a lightning network. It's just a matter of time until LN is easily anonymous, and interactive payjoins are easy.
Montero can't be audited properly. All zkp chains will also have this problem. UTXO is Goldilocks. Auditable, but potentially private with VPN and interactive payjoins.
Montero can't be audited. Did I mention that?
Maybe we can call it strontgeld, as in strontium 90. The atom named after the German word for dogshit.
I agree that LN is still a bit immature. It really doesn't matter that much if most channels are managed by well capitalized companies. They are just about perfect for bigger companies to buy as part of a bitcoin pivot.
Just as the mining hasn't fallen to centralisation, neither can LN. It's even less likely because of Bitcoin and it's strongly consistent, immutable ledger.
Nostr also shares a lot with LN in respect of being ripe to have specialists running relay networks and app services like CDNs and so forth.
LND autopilot is still in early phases, and idk what is CLN or LNDK doing about this, but it's easy to see that machine learning will probably be built for this task. It's not really a hard problem with enough data to train on.
Demand for LN support is rising fast. Finance has finally buckled, and coinbase is gonna get FOMO real soon.
We are only at the phase where there is now companies ready to be open to equity financing, and I'm sure the incoming bull market will help a lot of money get anchored in maar channels.
One user got 0.15 something. On a post about drivechains.
Someone Used Rewards Bug on Stacker.News to Withdraw 20M Sats
"The bug led rewards to payout 86743171000 sats rather than the intended 8774 sats ... 867 bitcoin in rewards."
https://www.nobsbitcoin.com/someone-used-a-bug-on-stacker-news-to-withdraw-20m-sats/
Haha. I got into a bit of a fight with said stacker. The reward was so ironically on a post about drivechains. The author thinks I am trolling him when I say that we only need one global broadcast based state replication machine.
Paranoid bugger he is. Thought I was stalking him. I, like most other users, was getting 503 errors when the pwa service crashed. I saw the post, 16 hours later, from koob and as I was reading someone accusing darthcoin I noticed his post fessing up to being the main beneficiary of the error.
I couldn't help myself after the irony of it all, suggested God might be trying to make him mend his shitcoin ways, after such a garbage post about drivechains, regurgitating all the big blocker, antimaxi talking points. Offfisication, you know the shit.
I could use a 0.15btc windfall though. Starting to wish I could get off this cold, windy and rainy little Atlantic island. Missing my second home, the Balkans, a lot.
Thou shalt not covet.
I'll help you with your envy if you like, gimme your stack! đ
I think they are saying you come from another dimension xD
The most common cause of stupidity is brainwashing. The masses are defined by their susceptibility to approval seeking, and it's this vulnerability that leads to mass psychosis.
It's generally dangerous to try and tell them so, and after all the trouble has arrived and the outcome is clear, they will then pretend they didn't believe in it even though we all know they persecuted us for saying there was a problem.
Never walk blindly into a seething crowd. You don't know when the panic is gonna hit. And trying to save them is likely to get you killed. There's a popular story about this happening to someone.
Just realized that nostr:npub1vp8fdcyejd4pqjyrjk9sgz68vuhq7pyvnzk8j0ehlljvwgp8n6eqsrnpsw name on nostr is @justinbieber
Considering he had a stroke I'm betting he's had a lot of questions needing answering...
They won't "squash" nostr, they will just try to take control of the bulk of the relay traffic either directly or indirectly, buying out or leaning on them. There will be show trials.
Just as none of this ever stopped 4Chan or TheHive or any of the other web 2.0 type freedom of speech platforms from continuing to exist, their ability to squash Nostr is far smaller, since the protocol is designed for being able to work even from a swarm made of home user's connections and a small number of VPS systems in friendly jurisdictions.
A lot of nostriches are in for a little shock to learn that they are gonna have to work for their freedom, and take risks.
Research - Managing CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) on decentralized social media protocols.
https://purl.stanford.edu/vb515nd6874
I thought this paper was worth a read. It goes in to how child sexual abuse material is discoved and shared on social media. Mostly it talks about the fediverse, nostr is mentioned only to say theyâre aware of nostr and it has different issue than the fediverse. We will have to deal with this stuff, relay operators and media hosts in particular are potentially liable. Nostr.build already has a content moderation team, others are going to need to do something or risk losing their domain name like has happened to some mastodon servers.
I was just saying today that I predict that the disenfranchised "alt right" who have been frozen out of social media now for about 5 years, at least, will adopt Nostr fast and make "goggles" to filter their view.
The great thing is that while you can do this to Nostr, it's simpler and easier not to, and thanks to hidden services, and soon that will include Indra, there will still be unimpeded transit of messages that would otherwise get flagged as "nazi" or "alt right" or whatever, will still exist.
They are gonna still control a lot of things via DNS, and if you are paying attention, that means that pretty soon, give it 2 years, most of Nostr will be walled silos with tiny conduits between them, and a small, underground network of relays that don't presume to curate the traffic.
I just don't accept that liability should be on relays. Period. This is never going to be ok and it's why although there will be a brief flowering, the ways to lock down most of Nostr are already ready to apply.
