So true. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to convince a single person of this. It is hard to conceptualize. I first learned of bitcoin in 2012 and it took until probably 2020 for me to fully understand this. Reading “The Blocksize War” was the single most influential thing that turned me into a fully fledged bitcoiner.

I think most goldbugs who dislike bitcoin fundamentally misunderstand why gold is valuable in the first place. So many believe that the monetary premium of gold is based on it’s utility as a commodity, but in fact gold is not actually used very much as a commodity (~10% of what’s mined every year is used this way. ~90% is used simply for it’s monetary properties) and that makes it more useful as money.
They also get the value proposition for gold jewelry backwards. They think “it is used in jewelry and that makes it valuable,” but actually it is used in so much jewelry BECAUSE of it’s value.

What are the restrictions within browsers that make it hard to develop apps for them?
Wow, so well put. I have to admit i was in the “ordinals are spam” camp but I think you converted me. Spam is usually predicated on the attacker being able to spam indefinitely for little or no cost. That just isn’t the case for ordinals.
Also, the blocksize wars also converted me from bitcoin skeptic to a believer.
Did you ask why Amazon can have “credits” on their audible app that i can exchange, on ios, for an audiobook. Isn’t this “selling digital content” outside of the Apple Store? What is the difference?
What are the trade offs for doing a web app instead of a native app store app? Is it just easier to make app store apps, or is there actually more functionality compared to web apps?
