Just a random Bitcoiner.

This is the The Way (of Kings).

On the Account statement, yes.

Tbf, their wording in the announcement is not 100% clear. They say you can see the full name of "your friends when searching their Revtag".

Friends could mean only people you already have in your contact list (phone number). We'll see what the change looks like actually when it drops

Statecoins are essentially e-Cash tokens; haven't thought about it that way yet. Interesting

Makes sense though. Both are a way to move an underlying coin off-chain

Too many people have given Elon a pass. Don't give him a pass.

He's a marketer, not a founder or an engineer. He didn't found PayPal or Tesla; he bought into them early. He's good at selling narratives and equity valuation for perpetually unprofitable companies.

Everything for him is a narrative. His green revolution was a narrative to sell more cars and get more subsidies. His bitcoin purchase was to gain appeal among bitcoin/crypto people in a bull market. And he shilled doge like a dumbass. His SpaceX narrative is to get money from the government.

His rooftop solar thing was an outright scam; the technology isn't ready and went nowhere because of that. His full-self-driving-in-an-intermediate-term timeline was a scam, and is going nowhere because of that. He makes scams to draw people and capital in, because for him it's all about narratives and equity valuation.

And then he dug unproductive holes, suggested unproductive hyper-tubes, built meme flamethrowers, for what? It's a narrative, not a business. None of this is real productive shit to make peoples' lives better.

His latest "we need free speech" narrative was a scam too. He tapped into something real, which is what marketers do and why it kind of worked. Yes, we need free speech. Yes, Twitter had censorship issues. He saw that and jumped on it maliciously rather than productively.

But what did he replace it with? He replaced it with arbitrary journalist censorship about his private jet, arbitrary censorship of Substack, selective Twitter Files release, won't talk seriously about any of his China connections because Xi Jinping fucking owns him economically there like Jack Ma, has his balls firmly in his grasp, etc.

Elon's playing the narrative, the anti-woke meme of the day. He's a master meme-momentum-player. Don't fall for it.

All true.

Except for SpaceX; these reusable rockets actually do work and are a remarkable piece of engineering (not by him personally, but still).

Tesla on the other hand is a major scam. Always has been

Compass Mining is now requiring signed attestation of residence for users who host a miner on one of their Canadian facilities. On behalf of the Canadian IRS.

While non-Canadian residents are pretty much still(?) fine, as they only have to attest they are not residing in Canada, this is likely only the first step.

Assume that in the non too distant future you will have to fully KYC for hosting mining equipment.

I would normally do some snarly comment, like "get your miners off the exchanges", but that's easier said than done.

Works fine with any Proton VPN server so far

Worth a try. The argument presented in the article sounds certainly reasonable

My understanding is that these are upcoming changes. That privacy setting is not yet visible in the app

Your Revolut subscription

Needless to say that this is what everybody warned about when using a custodial, state-owned wallet. but it's nonetheless a terrible thing to see.

Especially since the general population is probably not educated well enough in Bitcoin things to realize the difference.

That said, Wasabi really should have postmix tools. Could be as simple as a Ricochet which just add as a few extra hops along the way, yet throws of all these only-X-hops-away-from-Y algorithms...

Arguably this concentration made it be biggest shaper of public opinion in world history - and the perfect wedge for the various (likely PsyOps) campaigns that drove societies apart in the last 5-10 years.

We have to destroy this monopoly for our own good.
