I’m excited about the upcoming release of nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch, lots of bug fixes and an integrated nip05 username service. It’ll be released once we do our round of QA.

Changelog:

- Tap the Like button on a note you’ve already liked to remove the Like.

- Display NIP-05 identifier in the Profile screen title bar.

- Added option to register nos.social usernames.

- Fixed issue where search results sometimes don’t appear.

- Disabled link to nip-05 server / url on author cards.

- Fixed issue where paste menu did not appear when tapping in the Post Note view.

- Fixed intermittent crash when tapping Done after editing your profile.

- Fixed URL detection of raw domain names, such as “nos.social” (without the “http” prefix).

- Fixed the sort order of gallery media to match the order in the note.

- While composing a note, a space is now automatically inserted after any mention of a user or note to ensure it’s formatted correctly.

Hey. I might join the user research thing but I do have just a couple of notes about trying to move to Nos from Nostur and Damus that are still kind of why I haven’t been using it.

- Nos seems hitchy/sluggish in comparison sometimes. Like scrolling goes well then seem to slow when loading in more notes. Is this currently being talked about?

- Is there a plan for wider not viewing that doesn’t leave so much blank space on the left and right margins?

I like the whole cards look or what you may call it but I feel like the cards could sit shift the side of the screen and text could be close to the edge of the card. Maybe a future “settings”screen option?

- Lastly, my wife uses X(twitter) to follow trending topics and pop culture and TV commentary. I tried to explain Nostr to her and to say she thought the way it worked sounded outlandish is an understatement. Specially around illegal activity moderation, account compromises, and children’s use of Nostr. Would you say she would be a good candidate for the user research group?

Broadcom bought them.

One of very many significant changes to their pricing structure to now primarily serve large enterprise companies ($$$).

Oof, nice gate-keeping trolling. Nostr’s more than that. Easy to mute though :)

Yeah, I’m just talking about word of mouth and Bitcoin fud being associated with it by proxy even more.

I agree though.

Gotta get more influence, hate to say it.

Snowden using it, Jack using it, TechCrunch mentioning Nostr, etc.

Someone/companies needs to use it for their main comms to take off.

It would be swell if local governments switch to it instead of X for important announcements but it’s not ready yet, frankly.

This would just be for the user based on their followers, not everyone using that relay.

So this would be for a users right to censoring their own experience, not the relay opereator censoring all notes (which they would have the ability to already on Nostr).

Oh yeah, muting works great. But others looking at the conversation still see what your muted person wrote, because we dont have blocking on Nostr like other platforms (which I do still think is best because if someone wants to they can just mute that person too).

Hah! That’s definitely likely to change if Nostr grows. Especially because the people who will act like that can’t be kicked/banned/blocked either.

Ah yeah. I forgot about the hours.

Write feedback to them to let them know you would like at least one branch open longer into the evening or weekend. It is heard if many people ask.

Most small banks and credit unions etc have a feedback form on the website that’s handled better than emailing them or posting on their socials.

Well you convinced me to try Nos again. I wonder why not everyone is doing it. *looks at the client i have been using*

Looking at the real-time posts on Nostr is eh mostly bots and rehashing the same Bitcoin noise over and over and over. It’s tough to say it’s better.

Best way is to curate your feed, regardless of platform.
