nostr:npub1dqjff4hhp6nctfmqv5r3usppknff2khvkzexkv7tte2g7f5ycr0qhg8t50 I'm not prone to anxiety but I have all the financial responsibility in my family. If my son goes to school dressed like a hobo, that's my wife's fault. If we don't have any money, it's my fault. Not really but we have things each of us is good at handling.
I very quickly went from telling the contractor that the bank is taking a long time, to worrying that the house is going to be taken away.

She tried to force through an amount four times bigger than we wanted and it triggered an appraisal. She tried to lower it to the proper amount and it still asked for an appraisal.
I don't know if it would have asked for an appraisal at the lower amount anyway or if once it's triggered, it's triggered no matter what. She said she can't cancel it on her end so that makes me think this is the case.

But remember the first rule, don't panic, it doesn't get the job done and just wears you out. I don't know if you're anxiety prone or not, but just know this will get resolved. First off, is it ok to communicate with your contractor that the bank is working on the loan but they've filed something i correctly forcing an appraisal when it shouldn't have?

nostr:npub1dqjff4hhp6nctfmqv5r3usppknff2khvkzexkv7tte2g7f5ycr0qhg8t50 Yeah, the tax appraisal went up $20,000 last year but it still assessed at over $100,000 less than I need to get the money. But like you said, they just look at the market and sit in the driveway. The house is much more impressive on the inside. I think the $20,000 is the housing market.
I just got the bathroom and the kitchen completely gutted and redone. I'd love for them to come in and see that. Is that something I can request or just give them a list of renovation? Pictures?
nostr:npub1dqjff4hhp6nctfmqv5r3usppknff2khvkzexkv7tte2g7f5ycr0qhg8t50 Sorry, I know I'm asking a ton of questions you may not know anything about. I'm just mildly having a total mental breakdown.
nostr:npub1g5p800zr3f9ngq8d8v0t4rl36sdjs48j8z96df2twy23wvflg4eshh8gag These banksters hardly ever do a through appraisal. They usually sit in their cars and make sure a residence exists, look at it briefly, and move on and maybe review on redfin and look at title info. I'm not saying that's what you'll get, but it's highly likely some form of that in the states, and more-so if your real estate market is warmer. Also, they appraise houses all the time and bump up your tax liabilty, but that's the county assessor who does that.

Does anyone have any tips on this appraisal. My basement is unfinished and pretty much a mess. The house needs a pressure washing and my lawn is usually not kept very well.
I'm assuming all that stuff will need to be handled.
We still haven't bought any curtains for the living room or blinds for the kitchen since the renos.
Does that kind of stuff matter to them? Should I bake cookies like I'm a realtor?
Any other tips and tricks?
I'm screwed and I need help. We did renovations and I need to borrow money to pay the contractor. It shouldn't have been a big issue but the bank screwed up and put in that we were asking for almost four times as much money. That triggered a request to do an appraisal. Now it doesn't matter what I try to get, the system forces and appraisal.
I think she just screwed me and she's lying to cover herself but I can't focus on that at the moment. I need to get this money before the contractor sues.
