Was on #Boracay - so called “Bitcoin Island”: tor seemed blocked on Smart cell network (PLDT originally created by government edict), unless sent through VPN!

(In general, Boracay is not an expensive place, but relatively rather low-grade in everything, even at 4-star level. Considered by Filipinos to be one of their premier resort areas.👎)

Of the territories i visit, i think the #Phils has become the most annoying and the most routinely, insidiously abusive in this aspect.

If they were, there would be 11 or 12 Commandments:

“Thou shalt do whatever the biggest, local armed gang of men commands you to do.”

“Thou shall give the biggest, local armed gang of men as much of your property as they wish.”

If anything like that were authorised by God, then any genuine charity group is authorised by God to coerce as much as they wish, from all they encounter.

Within the context of Jesus’ teaching, any such charity certainly does at least as much and likely much more good than any armed gang.

#Thailand - full fingerprinting for sure, including children, and face scan, if i recollect correctly.

#Philippines - face scan, fully orwellian database entry requirement, before you even get on the flight there.

#Turkiye - no formal biometrics for transfer yet, but i think surreptitious face scan in that hallway after the transfer carryon inspection abuse. I don’t go there to visit, because the visa is basically Shengen, if i remember correctly.

I bought this #MacBook for travel. Now starting to regret that.
