Hi, I’m Charlotte, early 50s and I relocated from London to #Pembrokeshire in west #Wales seven years ago. Interests include #QualitativeResearch, #books, #running, #fitness, #cats and capybaras. Bisexual, cis (pronouns: she/her)

Doggo and Miss Cinnamon came face to face! He barked and she biffed him on the nose. He’s a bit scared of her now 😹 #cats #dogs

Anxiety not as bad as last night but I’m still crashing hard quite early. Night all!

I’ve been tweaking my running playlist and I thought, hey, wouldn’t it be fun to get suggestions from mastodon #running friends to build the #UltimateRunningPlaylist? If you have a song you love to run to, share it with these hashtags and boost!

I’ll start. My favourite running song is Lose Yourself by Eminem

Your turn 😊

She’s fast asleep in a sort of balletic leap position #cats #mastocats #CatsOfMastdon #BlackCats

It’s a lovely evening. Not particularly warm (18°c) but sunny and golden - in other words, a bit more like actual summer. More of this, please!

Fighting against evening anxiety but I think I am winning for once. My plan now is to do some #yin #yoga in my PJs then get get right into bed to sleep afterwards. It’s raining heavily and I’m enjoying the sound. Back to work tomorrow… just 9 days left of this contract, I want to finish two more papers including one that requires a lot of data analysis first. If I run out of time I am willing to put in some unpaid hours to get them finished but I’d rather not!

My mum appears to have entered the “everyday modern things are bad” phase of her 70s. She expressed a lot of disdain for people who have ever tweeted (so that’s me and her husband, ha), tumble driers, automatic transmissions and a couple of other things. She picks and chooses, she’s always on her smartphone and goes on Facebook daily. She used to be more open to stuff.

Oooh my nap went on for four hours! Just like last week, I needed complete downtime after seeing the visitors off. Now to cook a roast dinner

nostr:npub1fpr3egfa5xnfhvppkdnujqdftpsql2qfm0p3lzttefz4xggkastqcvlyph Yes, guests most summers as we live in a place where many people come on holiday and we bought a big house here specially to accommodate the whole family. The trains in the UK are generally better than in the US, but out here in rural Wales they are very unreliable and frequently cancelled or delayed. Even when they run on time they only go once every two hours, so if you miss your train or it’s cancelled, you’re stuck!

Cooked my aubergine parmigiana for everyone, it went down very well but it takes sooooo long to make. Between that and baking this morning I feel like I have been in the kitchen a lot today. But it’s been good, my son hung out with me while I cooked this evening and we had a good talk about this and that. He doesn’t understand my enjoyment of chatting to people I’ve never met on social media 😹 But then I don’t really understand his leisure pursuits of online gaming and D&D. We’re both happy in our little zones

Just been looking through many old photos. Over time I have had some TERRIBLE hairstyles and glasses frames. Maybe they were actually OK for 2006 or whatever but with hindsight just no

We had an absolutely wonderful meal but for some reason I have been feeling very nauseous since the drive home and my stomach is making weird noises. It’s kind of taken the shine off the evening

Goodness, I had a three hour nap this afternoon. I think I really needed some complete downtime after all the busyness and late nights. Now I have a chance of staying awake until the end of Oppenheimer which we are seeing this evening. Bit of a rush to cook and eat before we go.

Good for your Dad that he got right back on the scooter. His generation is tough!

Rest up as best you can before your mom’s visit.

nostr:npub128a33qcm3098ex0m36dkv554ufmrdak8dzwxvf3gw9g80lrcq5yqzhlww3 I’m just about to have a nap! How are things your end? Xx

My dad and his friend have just left, unfortunately he took a tumble out of his mobility scooter about half an hour before but thank goodness he had only minor cuts. He was very brave and got back on the scooter (once we’d got him up, it took two of us) and carried on as he didn’t want to lose his nerve for next time. It’s been a great visit but we feel pretty exhausted from our action-packed schedule of showing him a good time. They’ll be back in April for my 50th birthday party

I hear you! I know I’m not following my routine while I’m away from home and it upsets me. I know it can’t be helped right now, but I have promised myself some pampering and proper rest when I get home. Courage!

nostr:npub128a33qcm3098ex0m36dkv554ufmrdak8dzwxvf3gw9g80lrcq5yqzhlww3 I think I am going to take a nap this afternoon to try and rebalance my sleep
