YouGov is mentioned nowhere in the report. I don’t know where you’re seeing that.
Yeah, the blog post acknowledges uncertainty about whether this result is more an age effect or a cohort effect. They lean toward cohort effect, and I do too. I have only my personal experiences of the past to support that, though.

What does YouGov have to do with anything? This survey was conducted by Cato, primarily to measure opinions about central bank digital currencies. Interestingly, most CBDC supporters were also in favor of in-home government surveillance cameras.
Marc Andreessen on AI fears: https://twitter.com/pmarca/status/1666113080420630528
What did I get wrong? 🤔
I’m having trouble following the argument. Is Andreesen correct or incorrect that technology has raised human living standards? I’m reading:
1. No. Nominal wages may be up, but that’s just inflation.
2. Yes, but this time is different.
Now that I know what to expect, I prefer the image pairs.
I guess I don’t understand what the rule is for art used to train an AI. The rule for selling AI art to the public sounds like it’s the same as the rule for human art, which makes sense to me.
Is the plan to merge Amethyst changes (except spam filtering and shadow banning) into Onyx in the future, or will Onyx be developed independently?
Or: The most effective way to lose weight is to give up sweets for the rest of your life.
This is like saying the most effective way to reclaim lost time (or lost wealth) is to give up alcohol completely. It might be good advice for some people, but for most people it’s bad advice.
Philip Tetlock has studied prediction and discovered that some people really are better at. The difference is that they have better cognitive habits than most of us: They continually update their beliefs with new evidence, they remember the base rate, they’re less susceptible to cognitive biases, etc.

A Serbian film. Don't see.
You don't need to.
Antichrist on the other hand. If you want an experience, if you sometimes enjoy more shocking or depressing themes, Antichrist I definitely recommend. But only once. You'll know want to see it again, or if you do your one like me who doesn't necessarily enjoy the film but appreciates it.
I'm not sure that feeling is coming across in what I've said so far... But the first 2-3 minutes of this days it poetically in a way I can't.

Hm, yes, that looks like a film I don’t want to see.

I use Mullvad all the time. I haven’t tried many other VPNs, but Mullvad hasnt given me a reason to look elsewhere.
Ugh, nationalism and militarism. It looks like Xi Jinping wants to scapegoat “the US” and “the Japanese” for problems that are his fault.
Ran hill repeats this morning. Washing clothes. Trying to figure out what I want to sell in the yard sale next weekend.
Is that a copper floor? I’ve never seen that.
