You're definitely not alone. I tend to gauge myself by my own productivity as well and feel like shit when I'm a lazy bastard and it's taken a lot of work to accept the fact that not every day is going to be a productive one. And that rest is absolutely essential sometimes, so taking that break, especially when you're not feeling productive, is generally worth it.

I guess if you can build a studio, or at least a room that's adequate, then yeah, fuck it. Seems like a good approach. And you get better interactions, I guess, because you're actually face to face.
And I guess if you're using Florisboard, because that's my personal favorite keyboard, and it was crashing Amethyst when tagging folks.
Or, if you can afford it and work enough time ahead of time, ship them a decent mic to work with.

I should probably define that oldies are like the 20s through the 50s here.
