It's in-device. Free. :)
The amount of languages used in Amethyst's Users' public chat is amazing. The chat room is unreadable when translations are off.
I wonder what is the percentage of people that even realize they are talking through automated translations.
(Yes, the chat says that it's being translated, but people don't tend to see that message as much, which is good).
Well, that would have happened with today's icon as well.
That will show up on the profiles that the user is following. The idea is to say that it is your friend and not an impersonator.
Which they kinda did. Those appear only in pub keys you decided to follow.

What does that icon convey to you?
nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z hi imagine i want to share some note in another app using its id. Right now, amethyst is using snort for that. It's possible to choose another site as the base url, like, for example, nostr.band?
Have you marked your preferred apps on https://nostrapp.link/?

Possible? Yes, I just don't know how to deal with the 100s of client options that would be in that menu. đ¤
Not even verified email mean the same thing. That's why we want to move away from it :)
Does it get slower before the crash? That's probably using too much memory.
New Amethyst version (v0.64.2-PLAY) and I can no longer find the global stream to welcome new nostriches

Home tab, top bar. You can switch from follows to lists or Global.

NIP05 is an effective way to validate if a person still controls the key you thought they controlled. Otherwise, how are you making sure you are still talking to the same person and not an attacker that has taken over that account?
> 3 should just be a blurred image/video with a warning ...
Then everything would be blurred because most images on your feed are just unverifiable as opposed to NIP-94 or 95 images.
They all have different meanings as you can see from the list. It's a different verification as well but that is not important. It's about communicating the meaning, not the engineering behind it.
Not enough screen space. There are a lot of things we already don't even display because of lack of space. Whatever label we choose needs to be tiny 30x30 pixels.
Choose what?
You will have to find a server for your video first. That server needs to give you a .m3u8 URL. Then the app could have a new stream screen where you put that URL into it.
Long term we might be able to do streaming through Nostr relays, but no relay is ready for this right now. :( So, the external server is a requirement.
That being said, if you use live.snort.social in a desktop, you can use a browser extension to log into your account. That is very safe at the moment.
Or just create a new account for the stream and share the URL/Nostr event that Snort creates on your feed. That also works.
Designers, we need your help.
Amethyst uses 3 "verification" symbols and they all resemble Twitter's with a different color. I'd like to move away from Twitter's symbol and increase their effectiveness in communicating what they trully mean without any other explainer in the UI.

The 3 symbols are:
1. The "you follow this person" verification symbol in the top-right corner or every profile picture. This helps people identify impersonators easily.
2. NIP-05 "verification" icon as the @ on their email address in 3 states: verifying (yellow), verified (blue) and failed verification (red). Failed verification should be a big red flag that something is wrong with this account and might be potentially hacked.
3. The hash verification for NIP-94 and NIP-95 images and videos. This means the image that was downloaded to the phone is exactly the same as the image uploaded by the author.
Please send ideas for the 3 icons. Anything helps.
